Looks like the summer fade Couldn't help but bring it down You needed to try other places Well, I'm sure you'll figure it out The wind, it comes in from the coast Calling me to the South Two years we couldn't laugh Now death explains itself Everybody loves Yeah, that's life, it brings you down Drink 'em up, yeah, hold one up for me "He loved me, but it's over now" I was looking at the motion magazine I was dreaming, we were lying down In the dream we were close to seventeen, now Never strung out, never down The next singer you find to love you I bet he steals the words right out of my mouth You'll feel me pass like a stag in the grass Even though I'm not around Next time you call on me Swear I'll figure it out I stand there speaking all slow My mind in deep red clouds Each day I come 'round the station See you're not around And the station man just laughs Aw, don't you know by now Everybody loves Yeah, I'm still around somehow Yeah, you you're going places But, baby, you got the same old sound A sweet-talking, low-doping daddy From on high and delivered down You see him getting old on the road, now But he holds his head up proud And now that you're not here He relies on his lonesome sound And I know, dear, you can hear him still Even though he's not around Sing for you For me For Two Let's keep there Go on Every time it descends, oh my Lord Every time perfect sense, oh my Lord Every time we protect perfect sense we prepare, oh my Lord
Wow. It sounds like there's another layer behind this tune that's just out of reach.Sadness longing and beauty, building up slowly in a hypnotic crescendo. Masterful songwriting.
i hate that this guy moved away from the through the donkey jaw sounds he was mining, altho this was a really beautiful scenic route toward the more straightforward destination (a big and marketable artists who can support himself). I dont hate his success but i would have preferred he stayed in the murkier and more impressionistic end of the pool as a selfish listener! That this mortal coil cover he released just before this albums is still one of the most devastating pieces of recorded music imo. this guy was and is special regardless of where he chooses to end up
I'm looking for a song by an artist I don't know, from a Discover Weekly playilst that I unfortunately lost. I can't recall anything about the song, but I remember the album art was extremely similar to this. The album art had two women on it though, running toward the camera, I want to say one was holding a lantern, and it was twilight blue like this blue only maybe more royal blue, anyway...if anyone has any ideas. It's a shot in the dark....but worth a try.
This song puts me in a trance. So tranquil while also adding a pang of longing and nostalgia. It is truly hypnotising. This song is a spell.
Looks like the summer fade
Couldn't help but bring it down
You needed to try other places
Well, I'm sure you'll figure it out
The wind, it comes in from the coast
Calling me to the South
Two years we couldn't laugh
Now death explains itself
Everybody loves
Yeah, that's life, it brings you down
Drink 'em up, yeah, hold one up for me
"He loved me, but it's over now"
I was looking at the motion magazine
I was dreaming, we were lying down
In the dream we were close to seventeen, now
Never strung out, never down
The next singer you find to love you
I bet he steals the words right out of my mouth
You'll feel me pass like a stag in the grass
Even though I'm not around
Next time you call on me
Swear I'll figure it out
I stand there speaking all slow
My mind in deep red clouds
Each day I come 'round the station
See you're not around
And the station man just laughs
Aw, don't you know by now
Everybody loves
Yeah, I'm still around somehow
Yeah, you you're going places
But, baby, you got the same old sound
A sweet-talking, low-doping daddy
From on high and delivered down
You see him getting old on the road, now
But he holds his head up proud
And now that you're not here
He relies on his lonesome sound
And I know, dear, you can hear him still
Even though he's not around
Sing for you
For me
For Two
Let's keep there
Go on
Every time it descends, oh my Lord
Every time perfect sense, oh my Lord
Every time we protect perfect sense we prepare, oh my Lord
Makes me want to wander into the forest, stare at the stars between the tree branches, cry, and lay down in a bed of pine needles

I've heard early versions and live versions. This is even better than I imagined it would be.
And to think that this was done in just one take... Amen Dunes said it himself in an interview...
Blowen away
Wow 💗
1:06 he hits hit a note on the piano that's out of key, glad he kept it in there, fits the song well

Csherman42wallabyway good luck.
Csherman42wallabyway could it be First Aid Kit? The album cover The Lions Roar sounds a little similar to this.
Electric Youth - Innerworld
