Thanks for featuring these battles! I'm running dragon tail on the dragonite, because i felt like with the shadow bonus, dragon tails just hits so hard, and often times when i faced the mirror with it, opposing dragonites would try to throw on CMP, which just gave me a full dragon tail for free.
Exactly! Dragon tail is actually better, people forget the benefits of strong fast move pressure over mabye getting to a dragon claws/debuff weak move.
For the times I've seen people run Dragonbreath almost every match it's really uncommon to see DragonTail version but then again more people rather prefer a shorter move so they can play around being able to catch a move or switch for optimal timing but the thing that is really under looked is the damage buildup despite having the same exact energy generation within 3 turns. Also do note that Shadow Bonus does greatly increases the damage as well as a added bonus which is even better sitting at 6.24dpt Tail vs 5.76dpt Breath. May not seem much but that extra 2-3 damage difference in comparison overtime adds up. For each Dragon Tail your dealing 18.7 damage vs 17.2 damage per 3 Dragonbreaths (on super effective instead is 29.9 vs 27.5) and adds insult to injury if the opponent uses a charge move on poor timing for more damage.
As a casual & mostly ftp player (I spend a couple bucks a year), I've had a lot of fun running Shadow Gyarados (3860 CP with bb bonus), Metagross (4286 CP), and Giratina-O (3900 CP; I've poured countless rare candies into it such that it's my highest-level legendary) in ML, making it to Veteran (which is a big deal to me) quite a few times in a row with it. It sucks losing due to getting outbulked (which happens quite a bit when playing against opponents with triple legendary level 50s) but it's still a ton of fun to play with this team. This player used Shadow Gyarados a lot differently from me as it's my main Dialga counter. I typically use my shields on Shadow Gyarados unless I sense the opponent is running more than 1 fairy-type. Anyway I always enjoy seeing Shadow Gyarados getting more attention in ML. It's a Pokemon that takes a bit of experience to wield effectively in that context but it's rewarding to use. Nothing quite like cornering a Groudon with it.
That last battle: WOW. A true work by committee to get out of a bad lead scenario. And Shadow Gary is such a cool pick, especially given its general obscurity amongst meta monsters like Dialga, Zygarde, and Zacian.
It's just solga and dragonite , they don't make any sense in how good they are together. U can leave out gyara if u want This dnite solga duo gets people to elos they have no business playing in lol. Edit: im not saying anything to discredit this trainer BTW, he had great battles and has shown he does definitely posses skill
Yes. I will absolutely give you that solgaleo and dragonite is an absolutely nasty core, but It rely heavily on alignment, and for this team, I felt like gyarados did work very well, because the most common answer for a safe swap, is dialga, when you lead solgaleo. There gyarados was just good at getting an advantage like either shield or switch, if it got the debuff.

Congrats on legend!

You must shield more attacks

And Gyrados has a move Called "Hyperbeam" 💀
I'm binging on HomeSliceHenry videos
Isn't this just the solgaleo team with (s)gyarados instead of kyurem from one of your last videos.
Yes, very similar! Wanted to show a more budget version of the team (1 less legendary) still having success
Really wish it wasn't just catch cup going on. Miss mega master league.
Me too!
I'm curious why is parichu always your buddy? is it not a bad pokemon
I'm working on best buddying it!
I don't have a Solgaleo as I am a new player. Is there any alternative to that ? Like Metagross maybe ?
Heatran with Magma Storm is Solgaleo alternative.
Heatran is a solid replacement! It's what I ran before I had a solgaleo built
if your a new player dont play master league
Finally hit veteran rank for the first time this morning! 😁
I have always wondered about shadow Gyrados. I actually have a Hundo Shadow Gary that is double moved and maxed out. Just never used it yet.
Sometimes when I hit someone with a surprise boom i ask myself “Do they respect the damage?“ often times “ THEY DO NOT “ 😂
I’ve got a 96 shadow gyarados I use all the time and a hind regualar one I use from time to time
When are you going to stream again?
Gyarados needs a better Water move like Surf or Scald and I'm so happy I just caught my first Shiny Phantump today 😭
Maki made me remember about JUJUTSU KAISEN😅
Homeslice I have a team to run froslass noctile and tenta.
i hope master premier wil come back one day
Letsgooo gyrados is one of my favs
Thanks Hank
Can you show us your friend code in a video please 😢

Same old stuff. No spice
Gyrados kinda spicy lol
spicy pokemon are spicy for a reason. there’s nothing wrong with trying to win. also gyrados is a bit spicy
People who refuse to use their shields deserve to lose.
No they don’t because there are many situations to consider if you need to use a shield or not.
the two shield loss is my trademark
Maybe we want to save them for next season 😁
I lose like that all the time 💀
