Absolutely beautiful progress; your facial expressions show you are passionately into playing the notes. Your transition into the Prelude to Cell on G string..really is very nice. Don't ever stop.
Great how you've progressed over the years and never gave up on an instrument that is complex to most others that give up after a year of the instrument, wonderful job it's nice to see another player get so far on the cello.keep it up :))❤️❤️❤️
You have a great motivation towards cello. I have realized trough the years that cella vibrato is significantly easier than violin vibrato. Anyway, You are a great musician. Keep it up!
I can see the complete change in the way you relate to your playing between 2018 and 19 , your sound improved wonderfully and you looked a part of the cello and sound rather than it being something you were just ‘ doing’ . Inspiring to see for a beginner watching .
❤❤❤Really, your journey in learning to play is wonderful. This is the first year that I started to learn to play the cello, and from you I took inspiration ❤️❤️ I hope to benefit from you more and that you put many videos in which you learn some lessons on the instrument
Hey, I loved they way you progressed year by year. It was a lot of improvement, Also what was that last song you played? I'm not a cellist but a violinist, I wanna learn that song for a duet with my cello accompanist. (My friend)
Good job! Some tips I that I would recommend would be maybe look for longer lines in your phrasing. Also, (I know this sounds simple) but have you tried visualizing where you want to shift if you have a big shift? I know it sounds kinda ridiculous but it's an old singer trick, imagine where you want to go on your instrument before you move. It might help.😃
Hey mate!! Nice progression in 6 years!! Can you tell me what cello is this and the brand of strings set that you have on?! It sounds pretty good! I have a stentor 1102 for the last 2 years as my first cello but im thinking already for an upgrade soon. Keep good work and f..k the neighbours! :D
Hey there, not sure if you are still looking for a new instrument but... Eastman makes a really good step up to your current instrument...it's in the 1500-1800 range. Slap on an extra $250 for a decent pernambuco bow and you have yourself a nice upgrade. If you are willing to splurge a bit more Jay Haide has a very reliable and popular cello line that spans from the 2k-10k range.
Also the piece is called “Krunk” and it’s by Armenian composer Komitas, I really love that song. He wrote it for the Armenian Genocide in 1915 when the Turks killed 1.5 million Armenians
How do u play that in 2 years???(2018) Is this a troll or are you yoyo ma's grandson and the piece on august 2020...that's me rn and i've been learning for 7-8 years damnit 😭 i regret skipping practices. Used to hate cello but now i love it but absolutely suck
Don’t bring ur self esteem down, I just practiced as much as I could and had a great private teacher who helped me through all of it. Just try to be consistent with ur practice even if u don’t practice every day.
I would say great progress but what really made me progress is too stop practicing full songs and playing just to get a reaction. You would amazing if you really tuned into practicing technique and tone of your cello. (Also get some good rosin)*. Keep up the good work!!
Great work! And that's a cool instrument. Now if it had 2 more higher strings after the A string and they were tuned a half step down in relation to the other 4, that would be reeeeaaally cool. 😎

1. Monkey see, monkey do. Most Cellist today are being taught to actually make rediculous faces to attract the audience by expressing emotional attachment to the music. 2. Our face is literally our number 1 way of expressing emotions. Therefor, if the player is into the music, he or she (2 genders) is most likrly going to show "some" expressions. But again, it is taught today to make rediculous expressions which yes, I agree, is annoying. Fun Fact: watch Old cellist, they could care less about rediculous facial expressions because its about the music. Todays society is full or narccicists.
As a cellist after 17 years of education your progress is amazing! ❤
Not only you progressed in Cello... but you also went to the gym !
Amazing glow up, keep crushing it !
Haha thanks!
Music can create a state of awareness and alertness in humans, a state that people with near-death experiences understand
As a complete beginner.. this is the motivation I needed to keep going 🖤

Thats a realistic video, of the progress on an instrument. Not that kind of 100 other videos, where people play like a champ after one year.
If you sleep with your instrument you would

I congratulate you on your perseverance. It's a very difficult instrument and I commend you on not stopping.

Thank you so much. I appreciate it!
i disagree about the vib thing, in normal positions yes but thumb position vibrato I would say is harder than violin vib
Nah cello vib is way harder
Waaaay harder
Whats the point in flexin the hardest vib? Kinda lame, for both of the parts.
Still waitin for the pianist to show up talkin bout notes per second
Lots of dedication, that's for sure. You can also tell the change in attitute to learning, particularly after 2-3 years of playing
A great testimony to hard work, diligence and talent! Also, compliments to your teacher! Keep going with it!!!
Thank you!🙏
Ahh! And you're all grown up! What a beautiful testimony to discipline and perseverance. Thank you for sharing.

Where’s 2024? Stunning progress
Nice job! It's amazing how the cello is hardiest than others common instruments. But, before years, we've a amazing result!!! 🎉🎉🎉
As a young cellist you inspired me to keep practicing suite no 1.
I enjoyed this! :)
Glad to hear!
Really nice!
Amazing progress! I'm wondering if you changed your teacher after the first 3 or something years or if it was always the same one?

broo well done its really good and encouraging video it made me smile and be confident that one day i will be better
Bro! 👏👏👏
Dude once I saw you shredding that Mozart in 2018, my smile lit up. That's impressive.
It’s the worst thing I’ve ever heard 👹
Super cool. Am I the only one that doesn't know the names of the songs you are performing? Would you be able to provide a list? Thanks!
Nice 🎉

Great progress! How much do u practice daily?
Thank you so much! I used to practice 2 to 2 1/2 hours, but for the past few months, I’ve only had time for an hour or so.
But most important is the quality of practice more than the quantity.
How often did you practice?
5:25 got that Ray Chen facial expression pack
Wow!
whats the song at 5:05? it look so much fun to play, beautiful progress
It’s from David Popper Etude No. 17

Also the song in 2020
Theme from Schindler's list and cello suite

Me too!
I have a question what’s the last song that you played what’s the name?
What cello do you have?

Is it possible to learn this muself or should i get lessons ?
Can't learn cello by yourself. Too hard.
Congrats man! You sound really good :) how much time a day would you say you practiced ?
Appreciate it, I don’t practice as much now but I used to practice like 2-3 hrs a day when I was in my prime
The key is consistency tho

I am realising hiw advanced my friend is.

Why do Cellists always do drama-faces? It detracts from the music.
