I think one of the most important points ( for the thoroughbred indstry) I took from the interview with the movie writer/producer was how important it was to show the public the caring background of the horses and theirstables, and that of their breeding. The ownership group group of Seize The Grey, also pointed out, how much they had enjoyed following the horse all along his journey, from purchase thru all his training & progression.
And just forget the horses that end up in feed lots and kill pens-like most recently Mr.Catholic.
I need funding, to keep these things open
California should open up fixed odds and prop bet wagering. Handle would shoot up and draw in not only gamblers who bet horses and just don’t play cali but also would draw in non racing gamblers. In time it would solve purse problems and field sizes.
Indian controlled casino gambling won't ALLOW that to come up for a vote in CA. They won't allow any competition and don't want to support racing. They want ALL of the POT. So, horse racing can die in CA, as far as they are concerned.

There are many groups doing thoroughbred rescue. If you know about the horse, did you notify any of them, or notify Claiborne Farms, who owns his sire, to see if they could or would help, even with transport? It Doesn't help to bemoan a horse after the fact. The owners &/ the trainer HAVE to reach out to allow rescue and re-homing to take place.
Thank you for eliminating my comment regarding what the sport is ignoring-the horses that are not cared for and end up in feed lots and kill pens-Mister Catholic being one of many.
You cannot ignore this truth about horse racing forever.
I for one am tiring of supporting horse racing with my friends when the sport is not addressing this issue.
