The 2nd car I ever owned was a '73 Chevy Caprice Classic Coupe. In many ways it was very similar to this car, however mine was blue with a white vinyl roof. That car is still the very best car I ever owned. Ironically, I couldn't afford to buy it back, however! I purchased the car in late '74 for $3395. Here we are almost 50 years later, and I couldn't afford to buy it back, even if it were still around. Pretty sad.
Wow ! I love it. Fifty years ago this month, October 27, I took delivery of my1972 Caprice Coupe at Sondag Chevrolet in Des Planies, Illinois. It was my first new car and made an error by not ordering all the power options; windows, door locks, seat, tilt wheel. Otherwise, It had all the options, including bumper guards and bumper rubber strips, also custom wheel covers ($63.20 option) each of which has 76 separate metal plates. They were very heavy. It was Fathom Blue with light blue vinyl top and blue brocade cloth interior. I drove it up to my home in Milwaukee, where it went through cold hell that Winter. Ice, snow, tons of salt; rusted the bottom in a few months. The following June I reported for duty with the Marines at Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro, California. I sold it in 1975 to a dealer in Santa Ana, California, after I took delivery of the yellow 1975 Corvette Stingray coupe with tan leather that I special ordered. Now I was in Car Culture headquarters..........and lots of lowriders. Wonder if it became a lowrider??? This past week I found the original sales receipt and the long list of options I told the dealer to spec out (minus all the power options as I thought they were standard on Caprice models). And this weekend I found 4 of the Custom Wheel Covers in excellent condition. They will be here Friday. Now I am looking for another 72 Caprice Coupe, condition 1 or 2. Where can I find these 1972 Caprice coupes? Thank you for the video !
My first car was one of these. Dark metallic brown with white upholstery, no vinyl roof (which was a good thing), 350 with Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel and 70,000 miles on the clock. Car was in nice shape with no rust. Worked all of that summer in 1980 to buy it for (drum roll): $1000. Adjusted for inflation that's around $5K now.
I had a 73 Custom Coupe that was blue with a white top and it was just as clean. I wish I would have never sold it. I regret it daily. Believe me I learned from my mistake.
I see less '73 Impala coupes than Caprices. This one is unusual having the 400 engine rather than the base 2bbl.350. A 4bbl.350 was also available as well as a 454. I still have my '73 Caprice coupe that I bought new in Jan.'73. msrp of $4715.
Look good car and clean maybe think of a good car wheel are the where you can take the rims look like a kind a black or silver wheel you think your business and your decide just ask you about anything 🆒🙏🏾

The wheels are actually worth a lil bit of money.
They appear to be the 2piece type. Chrome steel rims & spinners.
