I absolutely love this song... it makes me tear up every time I hear it.

Country music is by far my favorite genre, as I am sure it is for many of you.

A great song such as this can do as much if not more to heal a shattered heart in the long run than simple time can; at least I have found this to be true anyway.

Just heard it today
I lost my "first love" and it still affects me 30 years later. Something about the innocence the first time through and the learning with your young body. However, I was fortunate enough to find the "love of my life" eventually and our two children are a testament to a more "enduring" kind of love. Just gotta look at the bright side and not wallow in the misery. Take this song for the sad truth that it is but learn from it and be better!

Seems like each heartbreak adds a little more and more, and my greatest fear is putting myself out there and trying so many times, only to have it affect my ability to love.

I felt every word of this in my soul!! I put everything I had In me into showing him that there were good women out there and trying to fix what the last one broke that I lost all of me!! He took such advantage of the love I was trying to show and to give to him!! I’ve never had someone give me all of their heart ever. I was an addict for 14 years and one day I realized that if I don’t use I won’t get sick and am now 3 years sober and I finally realized this about love as well if I don’t give my heart to someone that will do nothing but stomp on it and throw it to the side then I don’t have to feel that pain!
