Didn't work for me. Does not have the same menu schem. Amazon deleted my photos and music, Yahoo bought the other online photo sharing site, deleting all my photos, One Drive deleted all my photos for not loging on. See, I got the redundancy thing down, but heed my words, AFTER 31 YEARS, THE PHOTOS THAT WERE BURNED TO CD OR PRINTED THE OLD FASHIONED WAY ARE THE ONLY MEDIA THAT WILL STAND THE TEST OF TIME. THEY WILL OUT LIVE ME.

Thanks for your video. I have a 4GB external hard drive that I originally have my photos saved to. I was trying to set up google photos and get it to sync it all. Instead of my google photos going to my hardrive, google tried to download my external hard drive overloading storage. Grr. To some of the comments, learn about disabilities and refer to it a more respectful way. He even explains why he has the trach. He speaks very well and did a very good job. If you don't understand something, look it up, just like you're doing here. Many people with throat cancer have to get a trach. Have some compassion for the guy.
i love this guy! hes cool. easy to learn and understand. very informative and has a good sense of humor and very joyful which is important in connecting with the viewers and keeping them zoned in and interested. aswell as them wanting to learn and watch the rest of the video aswell as more videos!!

Info is a little outdated. Google photos is no longer FREE as of June 2021 and I have NO intention of paying google for photo storage. I would like to know how to upload FROM google photos to my google drive. Thanks for your video. Be well!

Once downloaded, you can use your file manager to move them to whatever device you have attached. I recommend looking up something like,' computer file management basics' for a tutorial.
Your instructions are outdated this is 2022 and there just Google does not set up that way anymore so it didn’t help me

Yeah, I wouldn't bother trying to transfer to SD cards anymore. Barely works.
If you could answer this soon I would really appreciate it. My iphone is not working or turning on and I'm likely going to have to restore it to factory settings. I have the google photos ap and I see on my computer all my photos are there. If I wipe my phone, will all my photos still be in the google photos ap even if I don't export all of them onto my computer?
If you currently see them on your computer at photos.google.com, they have already been uploaded to the cloud, and it is safe to factory reset your iPhone.

Go to photos.google.com, and sign in if necessary. You can delete things there.
drive.google.com for documents.

@@ashajiandani2549 If the photos are exclusively on the backup, that will happen. There is a 'trash' you can restore them from, if you wanted to.
Does it also work if your pictures are not backed up?
No, they will not be downloadable if there's nothing to download.

Delete the pictures from your email account? I'm not sure why it would, unless you sent pictures via Photos links rather than attachments.

@@abenaanimawaa8346 Is your phone an iPhone or an Android? What we probably need to do is change a setting in Google Photos on your phone to upload with a different setting, and also clear the photos off your phone. You do! An iPhone will not work for this, as the iPhone will stop large downloads to save battery life.

This clip was well presented but is (apparently) now outdated. There's no option to "Control your Content" etc. I looked for a likely alternative (within my google account), but Google just seem hellbent on selling me extra storage space. I'll click the "Updated" link in description box, so apologies if I missed anything. Wish me luck!
NOPE....NOPE.....NOPE....Go to Google Photos, put your cursor on the date of the album you want to download & a dot will appear, click on that dot. In the upper right hand corner of the page, three dots will appear. Click on the three dots, a drop down will appear; one of the options will be "download." Click on the word download & you w/b asked where you want your photos to be downloaded. It really is that simple. These complicated videos are a waste of time; the video makers make money, when you click on their videos.
Everybody needs to make money, but I’m currently making none from this.
Also, this is the only way to download it all at the same time, so...

I tried your technique. Apparently, all the settings on the account are different from what you suggested. But at the end of the day, I managed to walk into the zone of Google take-out, and the message is coming up that Google us creating a file. So, I pray, I won't lose anything 🙏.

It depends on what your end goal is. It sounds like you just want to disable the backup feature in Google Photos?
How do you get all your Google photos/videos ASAP cause it keeps saying "getting your photos.."

Right click and choose extract - then cut and paste the resulting folders on to the drive.

My Google backup is full on my phone, it's telling me to buy more space. So I went out and bought the biggest size SD card. 'Cuz I didn't have an SD card in my phone, @ all. But now I do and I thought that would free up some space but it's not. So no previous photos will be backed up to Google, what can I do?
Google backup is a cloud service you can pay for more storage on, delete files from, or stop using entirely. It does not have to do with your phone's storage space.

so moving my photos to my SD card was useless. Cuz now I have them on Google cloud & my SD card? I mean Google's telling me to delete some files or I won't be able to receive my Gmail which I don't, and I can't back up any more photos. So I deleted all my emails. Still Google cloud is backed up, stopped. How can I make room on my Google cloud without purchasing more space & furthermore how can I see what's on my cloud? I need to free up some space and that's why I transfer the photos over to my SD card.

Say i want to use an alternative service that allows you to search by location or when the photo was taken, do you know if this would preserve that information and allow me to search for "Venice, 2015" or whatever or would that be lost? Thanks so much for the easy tutorial. However, I don't know if I am using an older Google version or what, but one thing for sure I could not find the "Create Archive" button. What appears on my Google Takeout screen (after I clicked "deselect all" and chose "Google Photos" and clicked "Next Step"), there is only one option which is the "Create Export" button. May be you could help me with this problem. Thanks
Google and other tech companies change the verbiage/terminology on software buttons often, but if it makes sense, that's likely it. Create Export means the same thing as Create Archive.

They also store all of the voice recordings from every time they *think* you're calling 'Ok Google'. You're often not.

If you mean on a phone, that's not currently a feature I'm aware of.
On a computer, you can save to whatever device is attached to your computer.

If you never enabled backup intentionally, I'm afraid they are gone. My condolences. The only thing you can do to check would be to login to photos.google.com with the same Google account you had on your old phone, and see if they are there.

That's a simple question with a complex answer!
The simple answer is: Yes.
The complicated one requires more detail - what is your end goal? Just putting them on a DVD for backup? Or viewing on a TV?
If just backing up, it depends on your OS.
If making a slideshow, you can make a slideshow with photos.google.com, then save it to your computer and make a DVD with DVDStyler: www.dvdstyler.org/en/
