Many years ago I got my granddaughter "The Twelve Dogs of Christmas " book. Of course five golden rings was five golden retrievers, which I loved because we had a beautiful golden retriever at the time. I still miss her!!
I am so upset when I see how many animals are dumped, I would walk over glass and not eat, rather than ever give up my babies. The puppy and kitten farms need to be shut down, that might go some way to alleviating this issue. Thank you Lee ❤

The economy ? More like the disgusting human nature of throw away when something shinier comes along. Hope you didn't vote for Trump. He would snuff all animals if he could make some money out of it....and just because he hates animals. Take a look at society ..and how callous they are before blaming the economy .
I have just discovered the joy of being a foster. I’m helping a Cavalier Rescue Group and even though I have a Cavalier pack (4) of my own, the pack helps with the healing. They are currently helping the rescue girls learn the joys of being a dog. Sleeping with people, and that hands do not cause harm. Plus chase each other around the yard and play and the joys of barking. Thank you for the huge effort you play. My effort is a drop in the bucket but I’ve been watching Asher house for over a year. Thanks for setting an amazing example for us that can help on a smaller scale.
Maybe you consider your efforts a drop in the bucket, but I disagree. You are a selfless, compassionate and generous person to be doing everything you can to help those damaged and abandoned little angels learn not all humans are unkind or neglectful. Thankyou, you are to be commended.
It is valuable and wonderful what you are doing. Everyone who has known a shelter dog knows that every rescued dog has special needs and it takes time and patience, kindness and understanding until they heal and know the joy and fun of being a loved dog.
All these dogs were people's pets, probably got them as a puppy. Then given up and here they are transported in a van across the country to a place where they are welcome. What a throw away society we live in, it is disgusting. Much Gratitude to the Asher House
OMG SO WELL SAID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your comment should be in big letters across EVERY ROAD IN THE WORLD it is disgusting to throw away a dog like this a living thing I cant even begin to understand mind as well live on Pluto i cant have one now but the day that iam able that dog will come before me
I work in a dog friendly hotel in SW England. The number of guests who say they got their young dog from a shelter after the covid lock downs is staggering. All those cute "must-have" pups bought during the pandemic, then dumped when you could go out and about again. At least the guests are giving a lot of them new loving homes.
There is no one more dedicated to a mission than you Lee. Day or night, you are saving lives. Thank goddess for the Asher House. These are some lucky pups! ❤
Thank you again for helping these babies 🐾❤️ It's so sad how people can just discard these beautiful babies. It just kills me. 😭😭😭😭 Please people ADOPT don't shop!!! You don't know the benefits of adopting until you do then you'll realize true love!! It's the best feeling in the world!
My dogs come first. They are always first on my list and I can't understand why people say they love their animals and yet abandoned them as soon as a problem arise. Thank you asher house for taking care of those animals.
I, like you, put my dog first. I won’t go on holidays because I know she will fret without me or our family. I know there are dog friendly places we can take her but if we want to go out for dinner or to a museum etc where she is not allowed, I cannot leave her. She will not cope in an unfamiliar environment without us. However, not everyone that surrenders their dog is abandoning them. Sometimes people have absolutely no choice but to surrender their pet/s. I refuse to judge someone because they surrender their pet/s especially when I know nothing about their circumstances.
Thanks for gently reminding people of the difficulties brachiocephalic dogs have to deal with. You are gentler than I can be. It makes me so sad that people breed dogs for that squashed nose look, almost guarantying their lives will be desperately difficult.
I think that each state should have at least ONE Asher House, he blazed a trail we can follow and do what he does!!! A group of dedicated animal rescuers and some Donations could get one started!!!!! Start small by saving 20 dogs total and in a few years maybe we can do 30....................................LET'S GO!!!!!! Thank You, LEE!!!
Omg, I would love to have one of those pugs!! I had one but unfortunately she got cancer and died last year. I loved her so much and she was my baby. I would give anything to have another one. Thank you Asher House for rescuing these babies.
I don’t even need to watch a full video to become enlightened. The way you start each video is how I want to start my mornings! Coffee and Asher House puts my life in perspective. Wish I could volunteer or say in person, thank you. Even just watching your expressions on rescue days……infectious! If anyone can give hugs to every person on your sanctuary, all your employees, drivers, vets, groomers, walkers, feeders, etc., please give hugs!!!
Yep. They are a variety of Spitz, small and active. I had friends in NYC with one in an apartment ! He needed “runs” twice a day for at least 30 minutes each. He was actually very good-natured, but not at all “cuddly”.
Thank you Lee for all that you do! We need stricter regulations for animal breeding! And some low cost veterinary clinics to help these situations. I am lucky to have my veterinarian that always tries to help by charging very very low or sometimes not charge his clients at all! He stay open for his long time clients, he could have retired long time ago.
Lee says "I want this one" over and over. Lee, you get ALL of them! At least for a while until they find their loving forever homes. Thank you all that you do at The Asher House! And thank you Tristan for the gruelling job of managing traffic to get these dogs to freedom!
Every time I watch these rescues I see joy in Lee's face! I swear, he's going to end up with a thousand dogs because he loves every one of them! That shepherd needs to go to a farm or somewhere. You can tell he's extremely smart!! I also love the pitties...the biggest couch potatoes ever!!
I started tear up seeing the little pugs. This is the first Christmas that I am without my pug after losing her to a traumatic death (anaphylactic reaction to allergy shot). I lost her in July and her personality was larger than she was. I give to the shelter in her name. I love that I learned a special kind of love that only dogs (pets) can teach. She was my family, my son absolutely loved her like a baby. She was only 7 years and we feel the void in our life every single day. I feel that “sting” when I see pugs and I am sensitive to see so many of them just thrown away (all dogs hit me this way). My pug was my little baby and I wanted her to live the best life. I want to rescue another (rescue only) and I am going to make sure the next one will know only kindness and love from that moment on. I hope to rescue soon.
I'm so sorry. I lost my two dogs this year, within three months of each other. They were 14 and 15. I still cry all of the time, and every time I see a Pomeranian or a Pekingese I tear up.
Plus backstreet breeders who prey on the ignorant owners who selfishly want a dog, designer or otherwise and not informed of health risks, and/or they choose not help, but rather put these pets out. I'm not from America, and I cannot understand how kill shelters are allowed to exist and why animal protection laws are not stronger.
No not a Skippy I had one that pup is way to big they are the cutest about the size of a small Corgi in height but of course longer legs. They are so,protective of those they love and have no fear of anything. My little guy was called Jet. They are the National Dog of 🇧🇪 Belgian. They are also called Barge Dogs as they were used to protect the products the were shipped along the canals in Europe they have a double coat and do not do well in the heat.
Not a Skipperke, rare to find outside of the other side of the pond. They can live 20 years. I was lucky to have adopted a Belgian sheepdog Groendael puppy years ago. Also rare in the USA. I had my boy for 14+ years, he was so majestic.

Surely many of you watch The Asher House videos on rescue days. When Lee comments that some dogs were in eminent risk of being euthanized, your heart probably breaks, as does mine. But, when I saw the husky/chow mix, the tears started flowing. Probably a bit for all of them, but she made me wonder what went through her mind. With the difficult housing going on these days I fear sometimes people may be in positions where they have NO choice. 😢
Please Please don't get a pet if you can't take care of them. They should shut down all animals. Mills! This is soooo sad!😢😢😢

Google Schipperke. They have a different body type. Small, a curved tail, medium length fur. Cute, but very active.

Thank you Lee and all for saving these babies... Schipperke I've seen many in shelters over the years... people do not understand them as a breed.
