Tier 8 matchmaking in 2020: 15 tanks per team, 2 tanks on each team are normal tanks, all the other 26 are premiums
Why to play tanks from tech tree if you have fragments to research all of them

Including premium? Because without premium *skips tier 1-3 since it is dirty farming* I would say t4 matilda is noob friendly (good armor/awesome firing statistics), t5 kv1 is a good practice tank, personally I found the t6 t150 just amazing to learn sidescraping, in tier 7 the t29 is the weapon of choice that is all around good, and amazing if you practice hulldown situations.
In tier 8 and up the noobs really start to get battered, but I have found that the tier 8 and 9 from the French heavy line (non autoloader) are solid, and the polish high tiers seem pretty solid.
But these "most beginner friendly" list is mostly heavy tanks that are good at stationary battles, but they aren't necessarily the most enjoyable.
Personally I had a blast going through the swedish heavy line. It starts with having a ton of gun depression. Then in t6 you can try what good gun handling is like. Then t7 you can try out mobility with a heavy hitting gun, and from t8 omwards you can show the dominance peeking over a hill unloading a clip. And to top of the tree, the kranvagn doesn't really have anything that makes you go insane, it is a specialist in going over hills but versatile enough to take on other roles.
Tldr: if you are just looking for single tanks to play take something like a kv1 to learn the game, and if you want a tank line that learns you various "tank styles" with a satisfying end I'd recommend kranvagn line.

@@TribunalxWarrior that doesn't mean they are easy to play. They are like a double edged sword.
Using a td to snipe from the redline all the time doesn't always pay for the effort, if you misread the situation you are easily outflanked and obliterated, you have to understand the overmatch rule (and know which tanks have which calibre) and I have been very successful by being thoughtfully aggressive in them lately. Their sniping prowess has awesome potential, but you can only reach a satisfactory result if you can read the situations and reposition/attack at the right time. Also, beginners often don’t have good crews/training/camo to give to the tank, which also hinders swedish tds.
Potatos typically do better in slower, heavily armored tanks. Soviet IS-4 heavy line is pretty good all the way from the KV to the IS4.
All capable, but forgiving, tanks. And as a bonus they do feel like proper tanky tanks and once in a while you get those great matches where you just feel like a steel god.
Doesn't mean a total potato will get 60% wr in them, but he might get 48% instead of something like the 40% he'd get if he were to play a faster, lighter, and less forgiving tech tree.
Quick note: ON the Somua SM, the Commander, Gunner AND Radio operator are all loaders. Thats one of the most annoying things about this, if basically any crew member is injured, you are crippled

Legitimately, this turns me off from taking the tank, I usually put a spall liner and improved hardening but I’ll pass on this tank and go for the 703 122 instead

This tank is amazing. I managed to have some real big games in tier X matchups, gotta say it feels good to lock the tracks of a tier X tank and unload the full magazine. Personally I go with the double stacking of rotation mechanism and vert stabs.
I just picked up the Somua SM this morning. I was waiting for that one to use as a crew trainer for my recently acquired AMX 50B. On a side note, I got lucky with the Christmas boxes this year. I ended up spending $80 total for 44 boxes and walked away with the Bourrasque, GSOR and Bisonte in addition to a T78 and M4A1 FL 10. I usually don't get lucky with things like that but hey, I guess it was just my turn this year. I have a whole mess of new tanks to play with and learn now. Cheers and Merry Christmas to you!

My AMX 50-100 was recently top of the tree, between that and having this as a crew trainer I've got one of my best crews in it now.
Something I really just paid mind to when QB mentioned it, about French heavies being lackluster at Tier X...I rarely ever see them.
In the hands of a medium player like me (aprox 1400 wn8) it still shines. For me its the best heavy t8 tank!
Decided to not spend any money on this sinking game and right now I'm more happy than before playing it.
I used it a lot last year in Frontline and it worked out well. This year it should be even better.
using extra rations, can allow you to drop vents ,and keep turbo with both dispersion modules

Let's be honest i got the bisonte as gift from 25 boxes my friend bought me and man it show that war gaming can make good tanks that are not overpowerd i been having fun with it 4k 5k games all the day 200k credits thanks to holiday ops
It's just the flexibility of the Italian autoloder that makes it fun and overall a good tank
All premiums are good at the beginning!
Then something magical mystical happens, and they're not that good anymore!
They're some "Classified" variables that get changed. Not just a power creep!
Only the fucking bisonte was not good from beginning. Its horrible this tank

Once, i 5 shot clipped a Tiger 2 once but none of them hit and i was so angry and frustrated.
But in match results, i saw that i 5 shot clipped the not spotted pantera sitting just side of the Tiger 2 :)

Hey QB, I never knew the Somua had such good frontal armour, I just assumed it had terrible typical French heavy armour, and then I hit it's frontal hull and bounced and didn't bother checking the statistics.
A question, what is your gaming setup? You load into most games before the timer even starts.

I had this tank as a rental once and was shocked by how good it was.
Try the Lorraine 40t it is fast and has a four round mag, it fills in to what is missing on the Somua SM
No, it doesn't. Since the some has 40% more from than both the 50/100 and the Lorraine. That's what makes this tank good and those crap.
i ammoracked somua with my kv2 few days ago
it has pretty soft armor except in the front but pretty much all heat goes trough, i prefer to take lone tanks that i can clip and maybe take one shot back
I love the Somua and it was one of the first tanks I aced... and I only have 19 Ace tankers... I actually bought it so I could train my crew for the AMX 50b line. But already having the Kranvagen, I am not liking the AMX line that much. Still I play the Somua and I still lime it.
Dont have this one but fighting against it know it can be real good. Find that the line tank 50-100 is a Lorraine on steroids and luv them both.
Yeh. This tank is just big brother to the Lorraine 40t. BOTH of which requires a bit more than average understanding of tactics; i.e. not really a good tank for someone who hasn't a full grasp of map positions, how to read the enemy movements on the minimap, and how to know when to reload. Both tanks are also not very forgiving if you place it in a bad position, as say a similar tier Russian tank would be. However, in the right hands, both the Somua and 40t can be very dangerous indeed!

30% more dpm than the Lorraine. Not insignificant. Makes the somua miles better.

Don't you think that AMX 50 100 should have this inter clip reload instead of the terrible "almost 3 seconds" when the gun calibers is smaller than the other autoloader tanks... I still have it but gameplay has turned into a sniper only, or rush to kill one and run as fast as you can... Being the first option more reliable
50B is still pretty good, it's just that not many people could use that kind of fast-big-no armor platform. Still the gun is great enough that it could carry the tank alone along with its speed and dpm.
50 100 on the other hand really needs some gun buff. I have no problem with its lack of armor, but if the gun is too unreliable what is the point of it?
I really hope something good is in the shop on 24th or 25th because then I can get loot boxes for premium days and maybe tanks and I'm getting the advent deal if its goof

I love his content as he has helped me tremendously. I am confused with his premium tanks reviews. On one hand he is adamant that premium tanks hurt the fair play balance of the game and discredit the tank tree players who must work with the limitations found in each tree line nation. Premium tank players would surely complain if all that was seen on the battlefield was other OP premium tanks.

Console player here, the newest update 6.0 to WOT has utterly ruined the game for me and many others. Been playing 6 years and loved this game, but sadly I have uninstalled it today. Wondering if anyone else here is in the same boat?? Keep making great videos so I can fill the void in my heart QB

yes, somua is way better than bisonte. i dont understand how do you even play bisonte derp gun after somua. It's my second best (after 702) premium tank statwise.
The derp gun can be somewhat fixed with equipment (bond stabilizer + bounty rotation mechanism + all other possible extras) and the Bisonte is much more flexible (it can clip as well, it can trade single shots, go hull down properly, side scrape and it is faster). From a stats perspective the Bisonte also performs very well, it currently has the 2nd highest MOE requirements on tier 8.
@@fireeraser2206 sidescrape with 30mm? you serious? It's basically overmatched by any HT you meet. Derp gun means you cant support top of the list, and i dont like ending battles with 1500 damage because i didnt want to die to t10, and at the same time i miss my shots worse than at lor40t
@@mezmerya5130 Have you actually ever looked at the stats? Bisonte has 75mm of side armor, it can side scrape against any tank. As I said, derp gun can be fixed.

Nope. You dont get 2500 base xp with so low damage. Probably you got 2556xp with premium bonus which means 1704 base xp which sounds More reasonable

Because The "highest XP" in your service record will be affected by The bonus XP from premium Time. It doesnt show base xp. My record XP is way over 3000 but My best game is ~2500base XP. And it was way More impressive than regular 5k battle in tier8 which is quite easy to do

Equip 2.0 is very cool. i even found the tank, i can useful mount the gun laying drive. its on the obj 703 II (122). vents on main slot and turbo+gun laying drive and the tank feels great.
i wont buy the somua sm, this armor is nothing i would call amor, its just more than nothing and without a good crew and rations, the tank wont be fun.

Well I got the bisonte in my 11 boxes xD so I'm happy enough.
But I agree the Samoa is probably better. At least playing against them the French one seems much more scarry.

@@gliboperuta9213 I'm coming from WOT Blitz, where reload times pretty much have to be below 25 seconds, or it doesn't work for the meta. But I get that WOT can accommodate that, because of longer games, and more shells in the can.

I have more avarage damage with Somua SM (normal Equipment) than with Bisonte (Bond Equipment). Its better, atleast for me
try picking out tanks that you can clip and shoot 1 round into next behind it if possible , don't count on youre armor because all heat cancels that

Title rule doesnt works here, yes its much better. On bisonte accuracy around 10% is normal..
for me the sm is a mixed bag... im not that good of a player, improving, but still not there yet
idk, I guess as a heavy I want to brawl, but the clip makes me want to try and assassinate... you dont/shouldnt trade normal 1 for 1 like most other heavies... and the cupolas feel so vulnurable since you have one on each side, even if on the tanks left its huge... I also dont like the 300 alpha... feels a bit too plinky for the inaccurate gun
idk, just a lot of little nit-picks I dont like when playing the thing. Also it was one of the tanks I picked up despite not going down any french heavy tank tree... which is 100% on me, but back in my first go with wot I was a big fucking spender for no good reason

Miss when it was a unique thing just for the frenchies that made them special and that made me fall in love with them. Now they even underperform in some cases

Interesting, that second game: Full tier 8 game, no arty, QBs team had 10 premium tanks out of 15, the enemy team had 13. And not to say the tech tree tanks present in the match were bad but most of them finished at the bottom. =(
