Dude, this video saved me, i was half day with Shopify support trying to fix it, i found ur video and i fixed it, now is working perfectly. Thanks a lot man!
No problem, glad you found it useful. No GA4 doesn't have enhanced e-commerce by default. You want to follow this video to get that set up 👉 ua-cam.com/video/QYvaGJ8dQjQ/v-deo.html
No problem, that part is completely up to you. The order you place them in is the order they load whilst loading the page (unless you are using async, defer etc). Analytics is much less important to me in priory than loading the fonts and styles of the page. In this instance, it also just makes it easier to locate and move the snippet in the future for people who are not familiar with HTML and Javascript. Hope thats helps.
@@stevelitton gotcha so analytics loading first could slow pages down and lower conversion rate vs putting the snippet right before the end head bracket?
@@MarioMenduni Yes potentially, you can do other things like prefetches to help. But yes you have to think about where it sits in the priority of the page loading.
Thanks for the useful vid! But why should you remove the old tag ? why not use both? because the new one won't import all the date you have in the old version
No problem, in some cases the old tag can be reused using the setup wizard. In my instance the tag couldn't be reused, i assume this is due to how old it is and the fact it has a lot of conversion tracking and custom reports set up with it that don't work in the new version. So rather than maintaining two sets of analytics, reports and tags, I opted to just remove the old one from the end of a month and then I know the divide when running reports. I have kept the old property to run older reports, It's not ideal but only really affects my reports in the short term.
@@nathanpanuganti309 Hi Nathan, When the new code works in the preferences section, just remove the code in you theme file and then paste it in to the preferences.
