My cousin Jeremy passed away last week on Good Friday. He knew the Lord, but still he died young. It's sooo like God to allow Jeremy to pass the same day as our Lord - I know Jer would consider it an honour. This song was HIS anthem ever since coming to the Lord 5 years ago. Our God is sooo good to choose the weak to shame the wise! I just read Matthew last night; what a love story!
It's absolutely unfathomable what Jesus did for us. I'm unable to understand how I found favor with him. He gave me to a family that has a generational history of love for him. Why? Out of all the families in the world. He found my grandmother over two hundred years ago. I love him so much. His love is profound.
You know, it's funny, when I think about it. I have three friends now. In a social viewpoint, I really am a nobody. I've got no skills, no hobbies, no nothing. Then, on a little more personal level, I'm just a wreck. I lost two siblings and my best friend, all before I was sixteen, I struggle with depression a great deal, and my mind, I think, has been gradually getting worse. Especially when it comes to my memory. And keep in mind, I'm not even twenty yet. But, when I read the Bible, I find it has a whole lot of nobodies. People that God called upon, even though nobody else seemed to care for them. He isn't a God of the wise, and strong, and popular. He's a God of love. And what better way to show His love, than by loving those which no one else will? And yet, His love remains incomprehensible to us, in that He will love us to the end, regardless of how many times we may have turned our faces aside to the countless blessings He gave us.
Also, the list is much bigger than the three things I mentioned. MUCH bigger.
All the more reason as to why I cannot understand God's love for "a wretch like me."

I've been listening to this song all day long. I've been so overwhelmed with stress and anxiety lately. Getting caught up in worldly things. I was at the river close to my work and I was eating lunch. I listened to this song and prayed for 10 min until I felt good, and I ask Jesus to save me and this feeling came over me, I was so overwhelmed with happiness that I almost jumped in the river lol I can still feel my stress but I know God is with me and I wanna give him my worries.

Yes I am a nobody saved by the grace of the great I AM through faith in His Son Jesus, I want nothing more than for the world to not see me but rather see Him in me. I can't speak of the countless times I have felt Him standing in my room when I was going through the darkest times of my life. I have been through the paths of unrighteousness but Yet Again He always came to rescue because He Chose me! There were times I had tried to convince Him that I'm upto no good for Him for I failed Him countless times. Yet again, He said "I will never leave you nor forsake you for I have set you apart in your mother's womb. You belong to me, you are my delight and my asset". 😭

Can you imagine the terror of having to change the world if we had only our own finite, feeble strength to do it with? I’ve always struggled with really bad anxiety to the point of me having anxiety attacks just thinking about going to public places. I’ve let it control my life but I’m done with that now. I won’t let anxiety stop me from living for Christ anymore

I love Casting Crowns very much. I bought 'WOW HITS 2005' 10 years ago and listened to their song for the first time. I thought Casting Crowns' song was somehow different from other christian artists' songs. I felt that although other christian artists' songs were fun to listen to, I was almost sure that I would love Casting Crowns' songs forever. Now I am convinced. I bought a bible 5 yeas ago. I have been studying it since then.

Just, in my opinion, I find Casting Crowns to be much more personal than other Christian bands. Don't get me wrong, Mercy Me, Chris Rice, and a great many others are pretty good. But when I listen to Casting Crowns, it's not just, "Hey, I love Jesus, and He loves you, so come meet Him." It's, "You know, I may be a train wreck, but God still loves me; not just that, He loves you, too."
Mark Hall basically sings about his walk with Jesus, showing not just how even a pastor like him isn't perfect, but how God can take the imperfect nobodies of the world, and turn them into something great. By making songs all about his own struggles, past and present, he not only makes it relatable, but provides hope to those in similar circumstances.
