In this video I install the SKID ROW Catalytic Converter Guards on my 2006 Sequoia. Tundra owners & 2001-2004 Sequoia owners won't have the brackets to deal with. The Skid Row transmission skid is required, as these bolt onto it.
Sequoia's and Tundra's are targeted for their cats because they're so darn easy to access. Anything that makes them less convenient to steal will help deter a thief. I imagine the sound of a sawzall or grinder hitting these guards would be enough to wake the dead. This buys me enough time to get out there and handle business :)

My cats were stolen on my 05 tundra at the beginning of the year. I wish i would have done this...too late tho. Dealer cost was about $5,000 for both sides....just parts! Insurance wouldnt cover it either.
Ouch 5 grand???!?!! They need to start cracking down on the entire stolen cat industry. Hard working people are having to fork over some major cash, it's just not right
Hey there your link to cat guards doesn’t work. I assume you need the center plate in order to attach these catalytic converter side plates ? Where can I buy one ? Looks like it’s all prefab / out of stock items ? Nice vid !
Thanks and you're correct, you'll need the transmission skid to use these. Looks like those other skids are no longer available/out of production, thanks for letting me know.
Cool vid, do you know of a more robust system for high crime areas?
Nothing manufactured that I know of. Some guys on the 1st Gen Sequoia FB groups are getting pretty creative with rebar and other stuff, check it out.
Thanks for watching man
@@treehouseoffroad there a few different pages, could you please post a link to the one with those pics?
@@jayinla228 I would have to search, if I have time later I will. Join the groups and type "catalytic converter" in the search bar
Nice work brother! Great video.
Appreciate it brother!
I hope this helps ours
I hope so too
Great vid, I''m going to do it on my 01 sequoia.
Yeah for sure man, cheap insurance for our expensive cats!
@@treehouseoffroad I just recieved it and installed it befoe the zombies could find my Sequoia. Thanks again for the video. My 01 doesn't have the brace like yours so it was a much easier install.
Awesome video 🙌🏼
Thanks Frank!
put a longer bolt
The bolts were plenty long enough, getting the holes to line up was the struggle
Another great video
Thanks for showing love! Dual swing out vid coming soon, tons of editing. Making the video takes longer than making the damn bumper!
$540 for the shield set. Doesn't fit V6 trucks. Tough to find something affordable.. Good video though!
I've never been under a V6 Tundra. What's so different about it?
@@treehouseoffroad Completely different motor and exhaust layout
Sadly I believe there's still room to get the tool in there to take the cats off, waste of money
Thanks for your comment and opinion!
