Aside of the massive garbage (space junk) being created.. I do not know how easy will it be to buy politicians.
For reference: here in India, conventional satellite phone use without specific licences and permissions is a criminal offence.
And although this might be the usual cellular connection.. there might be an entirely different framework and set of rules required to contain misuse and abuse.. especially in the border areas.
Also hopefully.. if permitted.. then maybe calls between India Nepal would ve possible over cellular networks.. WITHOUT having to spend 10x the reasonable rates.

Not to diss your prediction but the kind of attention spans which many of the online Homo sapiens have and the kind of consumption patterns that we see.. the stammers flooding the platforms with computer assisted/generated content.. WILL FLOURISH (even more).
      .
Also.. recommendation engines, algorithm care two-hoots about quality, ethics.
Like literally all the pirated movies that get uploaded to UA-cam.. it starts recommending to people on the home screen itself.. no searching required.
The uploaded gets the views, the monetisation benefits and soon after (within hours) removes the movie/video.

FWIW - since it was first offered, I went with Curiosity Stream @ $20/year which included Nebula. I never really cared for Curiosity Stream but occasionally watched something on Nebula. Now with the CS/Nebula divorce, it is 50% more for Nebula access alone and probably much more that going forward. This changes the value proposition from "sure, why not" to "not so fast". For me, it's just too much.

1.- Microsoft has been known to put new keys into their keyboards only to make them useless over time. Besides that "Menu" key, their Wireless Keyboard 300 (the one I've been using for YEARS) has a "Multi window" key that was thought for that Windows vista gimmick and doesn't do anything on Windows 11. So I'm with you in that "programmable" thing (as is the people on Framework, by the way).
2.- One hard solution UA-cam can think of for that AI generated trash is just bring back the "Dislike" count or, at least, the Like/Dislike ratio. It was quite usefull when sorting quality content. Now we feel the "dislike" button doesn't do anything even if I'm still using it.

Whoever thinks the "menu" key is stupid is dumb. It's a replacement of the right mouse button to trigger context menus. I use it all the time. Some newer laptop keyboards made it so that it can only be triggered with Fn + Right Ctrl, saving a key on the keyboard, but now I have to use both hands to do that and I hate it.

You’re wrong. It depends on the manufacturers. I’ve previously owned a Lenovo laptop, and it lets me remap it, suggesting the Fn key is handled at the BIOS level. Just Google “remap the fn key Lenovo.” Although, indeed, Windows doesn’t have the capability to handle the Fn key but delegates it to a lower-level system, it’s not always at the hardware level.
Regarding Linux, it just takes the lazy approach and copies the Windows keyboard layout but replaces the Windows key with the Super key. Just Google “Chromebook keyboard layout,” and you’ll see. There’s no keyboard standard. I mean, yes, there's QWERTY standard, for example, but that’s it. The QWERTY standard doesn’t tell you where to put the modifier keys. And, of course, Linux copied how Windows handles the Fn key.

Sigh, as somebody who actually uses the application key sometimes I'm not happy about this, it's already hard enough to find keyboards that haven't messed with it. Keyboard manufacturers keep either losing one of the windows keys or the application key in favor of like a Fn key that's actually less useful if you have the right software. I use a Macro program that lets me reuse the application key as a modifier key to launch macros when combined with like any other key on the keyboard. I don't /need/ a Fn+Whatever combination to control the volume, I can use any key I want. The Fn key isn't /actually/ a key as far as the operating system is concerned, it only modifies the code the keyboard sends on specific hardwired keys, it has absolutely no effect or indication when combined with any other key. The OS /literally/ doesn't know if the Fn key is being pressed on its own. No idea how this copilot key will function, is it taking over the scan-code for the apps key or are they using some other scan code, or is it going not to send scan codes and require a special driver like a macro keyboard.
That's not even considering that a keyboard without an Apps key is like a mouse without a right mouse button, it's literally the only way to make the shortcut menu for the selected item pop up when you're using the keyboard, otherwise you need to use a mouse, touchpad, long press on a touchscreen, etc, which works from where the /mouse/ pointer is and not where the cursor is. So you also have to move the mouse pointer to what you had selected with the keyboard, which takes a few extra seconds every time which if you're doing a lot is a huge tedium. I have a cheap laptop that doesn't have an apps key and I keep getting stuck for a few seconds where I go to look for it, can't find it, remember it doesn't have one, and have to use the touchpad to move to where I'm working and right click.

The Copilot key may be bad, but it's not as bad as the Bixby button.
The biggest difference with the Copilot key and the Bixby button is that the Bixby button was in an inconvienient spot that was able to be mistaken for the volume control. In this case, it is in a spot that is out of the way and won't be accidentally pressed given the type of keyboard. Also, due to how keyboards work, someone's going to make a driver to remap it if it isn't there natively. On Windows, you can just install drivers without fancy tweaks to the OS, compared to a locked-down version of Android that you find on Samsung phones. I wouldn't be surprised if most manufacturers let you still access the Menu key, as Dell is doing it (evident by the menu icon in grey in the bottom left at 3:30).

And I'm fairly certain there are rules that mean you can't just push power to an antena like a madman. Most satalite phones also drain the battery like there's no tomorrow. So I'm really interested in how the he'll they solved the power issue. Star links internet already consumes more power that it's feasible to allow it to be used while camping.
