13.8 is only 3.45 volts per cell. Most of those integrated battery BMS won't start balancing that low. I guess if it is working for you then one of the cells is significantyl higher so it is gettign balanced down. I like to disconnect the battery that is cutting off and use a bench power supply to find the voltage it is cutting out and set the charge controller a 1/10 of a volt (better yet 50mv) below that point.
HOWdy T-C-W, ... I have 48 volt LiFePo batteries ... SIX (6) EG4-LL rack mounted Batteries ... with sunny days - I never see them dip below 50% SOC ... but ... this Winter ... I run my batteries down until I hit the BMS's limit ... then my GRID Power takes over ... ( usually during the evening ) ... but several GLOOMY Days in-a-row with FLIP to Grid assistance too ... Thanks for the VIDEO ... & DIAGNOSIS ... COOP the WiSeNhEiMeR from Richmond, INDIANA ...
Howdy Chief, I could not quite see how your FIVE (5) Batteries were attached to each-other I could view what appears to be a 4 BOLT Bus-Bar ( both +RED+ & -BLACK- ) with leads to a +Switch+ & -SHUNT- are your ? Five ? Batteries all attached to those Four (4) BOLT Bus Bars ? How are they configured ? a few PIGGY-BACKED ? just curious COOP ...
@@thechiefsway2618 Thanks Chief I had forgotten about that in-depth VIDEO of your SYSTEM when you had FOUR Batteries ... Thanks AGAIN COOP RM2 on the USS BLAKELY DE-1072 ( VietNam 1972 / 1973 ) ...

All the Batteries connect in parallel to a red and black buss bar. See this Video for a good look at it. ua-cam.com/video/pXLm2L5_WeU/v-deo.html

Are those Battle Born batteries?
These are Weize 100Ah batteries.
Stay away from those wise I opened up mine 4S 2p configuration on the inside and all the cells are swole just a word to the wise no pun intended
What was the issue that caused you to open the battery, and how old were they?
Battle born battery BMS’s suck
