I’ve watched a few live performances of this song, and every one is so raw. He seems almost surprised at the words he’s singing…I’m happily married with no end in sight, and this song absolutely breaks me.
I lost my daughter last month. She was 18 months old. I listened to this song with her before she left. She had the most beautiful blue eyes and smile. I can still hear her laugh as I danced around the room with her. I don’t know at this point how I can carry on without my angel. I had her later in life at 41 and I didn’t realise I had never really loved anybody before her. Daddy will see you soon my beautiful baby.

This song expresses every emotion I felt when my darling wife died. It was played at her funeral and it remains in my heart everytime I hear it even after a dozen years. Some ignorant people mock James, but for many his music touches the raw emotions that everyone will one day experience.

@@GlennMarshallnz I'd just like to mention that just because someone is filming something like this, it doesn't always mean that they're doing it just so it can be uploaded, but instead, it might be so they can look back at it in the future. I understand the importance of enjoying a moment at the time, but I think it's important to consider that maybe this song means so much to those younger people, that they would like a video so they can treasure it forever. I like to take videos when watching live music, not the entire time, because I do value the moment of being there, but it's nice to be able to look back at it years later when maybe the memory is a bit blurred, and you can experience it all over again.

That always amazes me. Maybe it's because I'm a little older and cellphones weren't around during my childhood but watching a performance like this my phone never even crosses my mind. Sometimes later I'll think "Wow, I wish I had recorded that" but in the end I'm glad I didn't.

I lost one of my two year old twin daughters unexpectedly. We survive because there is no choice. We must go on. Our family needs us. God has not finished with us. Time will help. It takes time. Lots of time. But each new day makes our pain subside a bit. 43 years have now passed in my case. My surviving twin daughter is 45 years old now and her older sister just turned 50. And somehow I am gladdened that I have been there all this time for them and for my beautiful wife. Amen

My wife at 40 years of age passed away 21st December 2022 and laid to rest 9th Jan 23, 23 years together and known her 25 years, it's heartbreaking mate but need to be stong for my children.I'm probably just lonely. I do really believe that my faith in christ is getting me through this. I will always play this song whenever I can. Thanks again.

She came crying a few years later, begging me to take her back, when she saw me out with my now wife. I was 22 years old then. I’m 54 now. I learned a few years ago that she had died. We were friends from childhood. For one night we were lovers too. As a friend I have been there for her and one day she moved away. Went in her city without any money, I have slept on a bench of a trainstation just to see her next day only to be text back that she has no time to see me. She never knew that I haven't had any food for two days just to spend afternoon with her.

At a difficult time in my life I find comfortable in this song. Although a relationship may come to end end for what ever reasons. There will always be positive memories from those times. Memories that YOU remember, that can bring a spark of light in the dark which reminds you times will get better and you will be happy again. Life is a book full of chapters and when one ends a new one starts.
This man was fortunate enough to have loved deeply someone. You can feel it in the way he sings.

I remember the times, when my very much loved girlfriend broke my heart, one moment my parents and brother weren't home, i sat in front of a piano and started singing this song. I never cried so hard in my life. By the end of the song i could barely hit any note, i was crying, crying and singing. This is the most powerful song ever existed for me. James is a magician.
