  • Every-now-and-again, Sue Becker gets asked questions regarding adverse reactions when adding real bread and freshly milled whole grains to a diet. Some of these more common reactions include, but are not limited to increased bowel movements, increased gas and discomfort, nausea, and cramping.
These questions have pushed Sue to do even more research, which has lead her to understand that real bread may actually play a bigger, more significant, role than she had ever imagined, in the realm of naturally detoxifying our bodies.

I can attest that the symptoms of moving away from a traditional diet of store bought grains- eaten in whatever form, DID hit us, and pretty hard in some areas...Each of us was different, along with the total number we experienced. But, it was a consensus that we were full of hot air for a while. 🤣I have to be real! 😆 I had knee pain, and some back pain. But, these have been areas that have bothered me for a long time. I realize now, they were likely "MY" storage areas- which were areas of weakness due to past injuries. I can't say what will happen with anyone new to this, but I can tell you that MY issues have nearly vanished after a few LONG weeks. I have more energy. And this cotton pickin weird thing has started to take place- I am starting to actually FEEL GOOD. Not, like happy, but, a general feeling of wellbeing. It's been so long that I felt good, that I had actually forgotten what it felt like. Thank You Lord for the bread, for our spirits, and our bodies. And, thank you Ms. Sue for being willing to learn and teach us.

How much bread should you eat each day to get the nutritional benefit? Does this cause weight gain?

It is recommended to eat the real bread every day, in every way. You will see the most benefits when you incorporate it in as many meals and/or snacks as possible.

When I eat too much of my healthy bread (by itself with no toppings) at one sitting, I get a bit of acid reflux. (on a healthy diet, btw) So definitely don’t abuse bread.

The acid reflux could be from unhealthy gut bacteria. Adding kefir juice would be a really great way to help your food digest and to replace all the good bacteria in your stomach and gut. We have a great video on that here - ua-cam.com/video/VeM_7pEUZAI/v-deo.htmlsi=o2Ary02DvBGUwLhW. Hope this helps!

Thank you. I’d assume my gut bacteria is in good shape from eating a healthy high fiber diet though. When I eat a reasonable size portion of bread, I get no acid reflux at all. It’s when I eat too much that I get a just a little bit.
It’s hard to resist bread, especially this healthy type, the texture of the fiber and moisture of the crumb add enough excitement that it’s good even by itself.
