True, it was a blessed time but you should never compare your youth with this one… your view of the world is what’s changed. In 30 years, the young adults of today will have your exact reaction. 😮
@@caroleberreur9585 It seems this will be the natural way of things, but I'm not so sure. The freedom we had from electronic devices cannot be understated. A kid in the 70's, teens in the 80's and young adults in the 90's, we're just built differently. The last of a kind to be independent of phones and other 'dumbing down' devices.
The 90s I'd say the last great decade before the internet and cell phones took over people's lives , a decade of freedom ,great music , what a time to of been alive ♥️
70’s & 80’s were much better than 90’s. No computers in most homes, no cell phones or pagers. Kids actually played outside from dusk til dawn. Hung out in playhouses that we built, did impromptu plays, girls were still taught to cook, sew as well as change a tire. Families were closer, less divorce or premarital stuff. It was all so simple & organic, not contrived. I miss those days of flying around w neighborhood gang on our bikes, going to public pool, couple-skating at the local rink …. The good ole days.
Just came across a few of videos for the first time. What a great journey. Watching these accompanied with the melancholy music and thinking about our current culture over the last decade has me feeling so incredibly grateful to have been born in 1970 and have been able to enjoy so many incredibly magical decades when time and culture seemed to move a bit slower.
Damn…major flashbacks, 30 years, once an incomprehensible span of time, now just a memory that feels like yesterday but isn’t. Sucks getting old, but better than the alternative
It is genuinely physically painful. To know what could have been. To see the onrushing tragedy about to unfold. To know and understand the life and talent this world could have experienced but will now never know. Heartbreak and loss at such a deep and tragic level. Gods Dammed the human condition.
The Robin Williams photo made me happy/sad. I'm glad to have been alive at the same time as such a wonderful person who dedicated their life to making others laugh/cry/think/feel. I'm sad he had so much pain and left us the way he did. Great photos.
Shit, I can remember the exact time and place where some little bastard approached me and addressed me as "Sir" for the first time. I was bewildered, I began looking all around to see who the kid was talking to. I was heartbroken when I realized that I was the only one there.

So you know The picture of Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix was actually at the China Club in New York City. I know because I gave them that jacket. I was the head of special events and public relations and threw that party. That's why they were there. It was a movie premiere from my Private Idaho. They were the sweetest guys. Ever.
We went to a few parties at the Viper Room in LA in the early 90s, and it was such a dump, but so trending at the time, so everyone went there. Where stars go, the dealers go. The place was a total Everest of cocaine then, and a lot of other junk to mix it up. I'm surprised a lot more people didn't bite it. Maybe they did but it was kept quiet until poor River died. He was a sweet guy...
You know that Pic of Leonardo dicarpio where he's holding a gun. It wasn't the set of Romeo and Juliet. It was the set of Scarface. I know because I was the filmographer and I Gabe Caprio that gun that I bought at the liquor store in downtown China just moments before that picture was taken.. ah, good ol days
All looked young and fresh, now all look old and wore out, that is the ones still alive. By the way, the 1970s were the best! Thanks from.St. Paul Minnesota.
Seems to be a thing with the comedic greats. Jerry Lewis stayed at our hotel and offscreen he was morose and just walked around carrying a small dog. A friend used to take Eddie Money fishing in the White Mountains, and one day he dropped by to pick him up and Steve Martin was there. Another moody fellow when the cameras are not rolling.
@@h5mind373 I think a lot of great artists have mental health problems, it gives them the ability to see the world different from the rest of us, allowing them to create works of art whether that be sculpting, painting, music or comedy. The tattoo on Danny Trejo's chest had a story of it's own. When he first met Salma Hayek, he ripped his shirt open and yelled "I dreamt you before I knew you!" And there was a woman, that looked like her :P He had got that tattoo in prison, where he also learned acting.
Cute photo of a young Ms. Greenstein @ 6:39 to 6:46 mimicking lady liberty and the raised arm of freedom . If only innocence could be preserved to keep the belief of freedom alive in the hearts and minds of all people young and old .
Met Anna Nicole Smith in the smoking lounge at Atlanta Airport in the 90's. She was wearing a oversized red t shirt and not much else. When she asked for a light, every guy in the room, including me, flipped out our bics. I was the closest and lit her cigarette. Great memory.
My bedroom had several projects... an ionocraft, a dual leg interferometer plasma accelerator, and a coherent hetrodyne-microscope. High school was good.
Im so glad I grew up in the 80s and 90 and reached adulthood in the 90s. The last decade of the golden era. This era we are in now sucks so bad.
