How I found NOFX? My uncles mate decided to retire and brought loads of cd's and bits and bobs (I used to play in a band so had all the PA system for free 😂) so I was I was looking through it and saw the picture. Instantly loved it and went to play it. It was the 4 track EP, with bottles to the ground, dinosaurs will die and obviously a couple of other B sides. It lived in my CD player for ages 😂😂😂😂
I remember being at one of their shows and they played this song. Within the first 10 seconds a massive circle pit broke out and all hell broke loose. Everyone's $20 beer was blasted out of their hands in the chaos and spilled to the floor. Then people started slipping in the beer and falling into a massive dogpile of bodies. Thank god these two bigger dudes were nearby and they started frantically grabbing people and throwing them off the pile so they didn't get crushed. I happened to be one of those people so thanks to whoever you crazy bastards are.
I just saw their show in San Diego and they played it, the pits were intense as hell. Within the first two songs my oakleys were shattered, phones were flying everywhere, girls were getting trampled. Was a fucking blast.
Nofx is the marijuana of punk. It seems like most peoples first band and some people like to stay casual and they just chill, for others though its the gateway into a whole big gnarly world of hardcore pure punk, but even those people still smoke the joint that is nofx. I dont know if that makes any sense but even the "casual" songs are still loved by the fans who have a broad knowledge.
