      He's serious lol. I'm from there. Locals pronounce it Amar - REAL - O. Even local spanish speakers do. Generally the only time it's pronounced with the "Double L" is if you are saying it entirely in spanish. Good vid about my home town though!

    Hi. Thank you for showing the wonderful things we have to offer in Amarillo. However, please pronounce the name of my town correctly. I’ve lived here all my life. We pronounce the L’s. Yes I’m very well aware that it gets its name from the Spanish word for yellow. I’m not angry or mad. It’s a common mistake. Just a little feedback from an Amarillo native.

    • @redromina
      @redromina  6 років тому +3

      Thanks for the feedback! The thing is that I actually pronounced it right when I recorded it but then removed it from the video because I didn’t think anyone would mind me saying it in Spanish since that is also correct! I do like Amarillo. Been there many times throughout my life! Thank you for watching. (:

      Mr.flippers good guess! However, you are wrong.
      The original *pink Cadillac* remains on *permanent display at Graceland,* formerly under a carport for many years, and now resident in the auto museum. The car was once again brought to the front drive entrance of Graceland in June 2006, during the visit of President George W. Bush and Prime Minister of Japan Junichiro Koizumi.
      Elvis Presley's iconic Pink Cadillac was a 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood. It set style for the era, was sung about in popular culture, and was copied by others around the world. *The car is now preserved in the Graceland museum, in Memphis, Tennessee.*

      Steak was prime. Alibates is a wonderful place to visit. One of those that leaves an impact even after you leave.

    I used to live there. There is soooo waaay more to see & do than she showed of this city! What about Palo Duro Canyon ( The nation's 2nd largest canyon)? She could have got at-least a shot as close as security would let her to 'Pan-Tex' ( The final assembly line of America's nuclear warheads). Amarillo has (at least had) the most impressive sky-line to any city it's size, in this country, & a unique night-life. The best bar- be- que, & the best mex-tex. BTW, young lady, you didn't pronounce Amarillo right! Yes, it's a Spanish name. But Texans (Latino Black, & Anglo) pronounce it with the L's IN IT!

      Of course there’s more... that’s why it’s called “getting to know”. I’ve been many many times. I just happened to pass by during a trip again and decided to show some of the spots. You could have just suggested these things in your comment instead of basically making it about me and what I didn’t do yknow? 🙄 And I know how to pronounce Amarillo. I actually cut out my explanation in the video bc I didn’t think anybody would care to be honest

      @@redromina Okay, I forgive you. Thanks for the explanations. I stand up for this city, because of all the places I've lived; my 2 years there were so memorable, & good. Amarillo has a SOUL! 💖👍

    bruh you didnt even say amarillo right

    • @redromina
      @redromina  5 років тому

      bruh yes I did. There are two ways to pronounce it. The correct Spanish way, and the fake English way. They are both fine. Relax. (:
