+King Her First of all, please do not mix ethnic groups and nationality together, there is NO CONFLICT between Chinese and Miao (or Hmong). Actually, even Miao does not only represent Hmong. It specifically represents the people living in southern China, sharing cultural similarities in Mian-Yao language Family. “Miao is a Chinese term and does not reflect the self-designations of the component groups of people, which include (with some variant spellings) Hmong, Hmub, Xong (Qo-Xiong), and A-Hmao...The Miao live primarily in southern China's mountains...Some sub-groups of the Miao, most notably the Hmong people, have migrated out of China into Southeast Asia (Burma (Myanmar), northern Vietnam, Laos and Thailand). - from Wikipedia” Yes, a Hmong person may say he/she is Vietnamese, Laotian, Tai people, not Chinese. Because Hmong is also one of the ethnic groups in those countries. To him or herself, the southern China is only birthplace of Hmong people, not their home country. However, when people say “Miao”, they are pointed to an ethnic group people living specific location in China for generations and Hmong is only one of the sub-groups in Miao. So it’s totally fine for Miao/Hmong people to call themselves Chinese, Just like a Hmong person can definitely say his/her home country is Vietnam, Laos or Thailand.
The difference between Hmong Americans and Hmong Chinese is that Hmong Americans have a chip on their shoulders and these kind of minority grievance is very American, as American as apple pie. This "Han Chinese trying to wipe the Hmong people off the history books" nonsense simply doesn't make sense in China but if you grew up in America within the framework of America historic experience this is just logical and natural. In Hmong's American imagination they were the Asian equivalent of the native Americans being wiped out by the European settlers. So all these trails of tears blah blah blah. I don't know whether Hmong Chinese are even aware of these Hmong American sentiment but if they do they will probably be even sick of it then their Han counterparts.
I learned and search for the reason what, why, how Dh.meo.ndrion became miaotzu, miaotso, and separated into suav, Hmong, and others. This song really got in my gut

Sky Chord I don't consider China hmong homeland cause it written on the map as China standing for chinese! if there is a country name Hmong/Miao than yes!!!
Don't be ignorant and stupid. China is our homeland. 11 millions Hmong in China.... 100k in USA. China is our homeland. Where do you think we are from? Where do you think your last name HER came from? Chinese. duh.

Yes, a Hmong person may say he/she is Vietnamese, Laotian, Tai people, not Chinese.
I don't know whether Hmong Chinese are even aware of these Hmong American sentiment but if they do they will probably be even sick of it then their Han counterparts.
tshav ntuj kaj nrig Is this why the Chinese tried to kill all the Hmong? They come from a far away land in Siberia even the traditions and dna match
Beautiful video!
I learned and search for the reason what, why, how Dh.meo.ndrion became miaotzu, miaotso, and separated into suav, Hmong, and others. This song really got in my gut
