Top and bottom is all about giving and receiving while sub and Dom is more about who's giving "commands" or controlling the scene if you will (I suggest you look it up to understand more) you can be a submissive top or a dominant bottom. Whether you prefer to top or bottom has nothing to do whether you're a sub or dom.
