No jumpscare, no loud ear shattering scream, only regular Minecraft Noise. And it still creepy and give you paranoia about something scary will happend when the balloon interact with you.

honestly the player running away already kind of chooses "to be afraid" which makes it a bit cheaper/less intriguing. So your point of view is true, though not fully about this video
@c1oudsky bull, their reaction's very understandable since the design of the balloon fits very neatly into the uncanny valley.
Technically in ANY Horror game you have to CHOOSE to be scared. That's what immersion is

There’s a theory that all the small children bugging him and trying to summon him and such annoyed him, and all the ”evil” actions are just him being angry at not being left to his own devices.

Oh man that was awesome!!! Went into this expecting some regular jumpscare content, was delighted to find very minimalistically creepy atmosphere instead. I love the mood in this and how the player character reacts in a reasonable way - attacking the entity like a mob and then mostly ignoring it once he realises it's apparently no harm. The way that balloon thing turned its head at the end actually gave me goosebumps haha. Would love to see more!!

Ok, that subversion of expectation with the second balloon encounter was insanely creative. The first encounter, it didn't do anything but float towards you, it didn't do anything when making physical contact, and most importantly, *It didn't take damage when hit* but did despawn with a pop sound, implying that it was in fact NOT a living thing and was just a weird balloon that kept floating towards you.
The second encounter however, when the Balloon got shot, *It took damage* and *DIRECTLY FACED THE PLAYER AFTERWARDS* before crashing the game, implying that THIS ONE is *VERY MUCH A LIVING ENTITY* and POSSIBLY flesh and blood.
If it bleeds, it can die.

i like silent horror, it's like seeing a pile of clothes in your room, thinking it's a person, and all that accompanies you is the sound of your fan, or air conditioning while you enter a stare-off with it.

Have quite literally had nightmares almost EXACTLY like this. Just something ominous and strange acknowledging you when it shouldn't be able to - Massive creatures looking directly at you in a crowd, inanimate objects turning to look at you, things suddenly whipping their head to look straight in your eyes.
Just discovering that something knows EXACTLY where you are no matter what is more psychologically horrifying than a jumpscare. This video is so low-key that I almost feel like I'm overreacting, but I really respond strongly to something in this... Thank you for bringing my nightmares to life. (I mean that genuinely!)

the part where the balloon shows up out of nowhere and follows you is genuinely terrifying. It doesn't register as an immediate threat, but it's mysterious and unexplained enough to be unsettling. Because you know it shouldn't be there.

Wait I actually love this so much. I love obscure “horror” where something so mundane pulls up to somewhere you wouldn’t expect it. The silence also is amazing. I genuinely like this video a lot

We need more mods like this. No loud noises, no screams, no scripted chases. Just paranoia in its purest form. A smiling balloon constantly floating towards you, making you question if its a threat or not while making you feel uneasy about its purpose

This is so goofy in concept but so oddly horrifying in execution, if this were to happen to me while playing I'd be equally as afraid as the protagonist here lol incredible video!
Now _this_ is a minecraft horror mod that I like. No typical rake ass looking monsters, just a creepy balloon following you around slowly, making you feel paranoid and uneasy. Also really cool detail how one balloon popped when attacked while the other one took damage and stopped to stare at you with that unnerving smile. Gave me goosebumps lol
Balloon looks pretty friendly, I'd definitely befriend it if that's a thing.

despite the spooky, alienated atmosphere, i actually found the balloon quite cute! a friendly, non-threatening entity that smiles and follows you around. i understand how it can be creepy but i couldn't help but smile a little whenever i saw it approaching

The most realistic and primal horror. It brings out the fear, grotesqueness, and discomfort without any boring visual or audio effects or surprise
made me incredibly uncomfortable at first but intrigued. it's a simple design, a smiling balloon, but with the intense fog and loneliness the scene gave it was really unnerving. it slowly coming to the player was very creepy. impressed too that instead of relying on an old version of Minecraft that this is set in a modern version but still captures that unsettling feeling, very awesome
This is the scariest Minecraft horror video without a doubt, the balloon is so simple and innocent looking yet the way it move is soo omenes and the way it turns to the player befor crashing the game after thay shot it is perfect
