I like the way wood frames look when they are all weathered after many reclamations.
Well they may look all vintage and pretty but they are inferior to metal frames. In my humble opinion anyway ;) Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/

Ther best on youTube.
You're such a big help. Thanks. Been having problems with one side of my print getting more ink on the shirt then the other side. I tested my wood screen and it was pretty warped.
Nice! I'm glad I could help out. Let me know if I can be of assistance anytime. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/
Whew...I was fixed on purchasing a wooden frame till I saw this. Thanks.
Great video. Thanks for showing us & recommending why Aluminium frames are better. I didn't know there was a tension meter for the mesh measurement.
Thanks for the info, I always liked aluminum over wood but it was just cause i liked the feel better but now i have more reason to stick to aluminum. I know aluminum cost a little more but its a few bucks and its worth it. Thanks again good video
What would you say is the average, for a screens tension?
Another great video!
Loving the vids, random question.
What do you do with the aluminum static frames once the mesh is unusable? Do any of the companies offer a trade-in/recycling program where they will reapply mesh? Do you just take them to a recycling center? Do you add new mesh yourself?
I do know about the roller/retensionable frames, but I'm not looking in that direction for now. I'm currently entertaining the idea or getting started in a small home based/weekender type setup.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
@FightingAussieLad This is a unit from Saati so I’m not sure if it’s a Saati brand or just a resold unit of another brand. My colleague has it at the moment…LOL. They can cost anywhere from $400 to over $800 depending on grade and quality. Glad to hear you are learning from my videos! I appreciate the support! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
24 Newtons is perfect for 110 manual screens. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you! Remember mesh tension is critical to the process. I think the monofilament polyester mesh is the best to use at this point. Technical screen printing can use stainless steel mesh. But that’s about it I think. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
@RaptorX1800 They should stay pretty tight when used properly. Also the more usage over time will weaken the mesh. So there is no set time frame for this but mine can last for years. Some don’t last that long too. You can get them stretched by a screen maker. You may have to ship them out and back to do it but it can be done. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
Dear catspit, I want to screen print on longoards but on top it is concave and ate the bottom it is convex how do i print on that? and do i need a special frame?
Im not exactly sure what youre looking for but the Catspit website now has an equipment sales page for your education and consideration. See my channel or any video page for the link. Thanks for the comment!
@KR8TIVGRIND LOL... nice. No problem, my pleasure. Thanks for watching & commenting! ☠
How long will the tension stay above 15 newtons on an aluminum frame? and can you get them stretched by a company? or is the only way to do that with a rolling frame?
I need your help I am stuck , what type of Cyanoacrylate used to bond wooden frames to polyester or nylon stencil . if there is alternative please overview it
I used red glue + catalyst it wasn't good and take 1 day to bond and get fully cure
thanxxxxxxx in advance
mohamed aljawder It's a screen mesh adhesive made specifically for this purpose. I do not know what the formula is other than it is a cyanoacrylate adhesive. Thanks for watching. Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - catspitscreenprintsupply.com/
Static aluminum frames may be cleaned of mesh and adhesive and then reused. They may be re-stretched for as long as the frame is rigid and square. They may be sent out for this or it can be done in house if you have the proper equipment, chemicals and/or tools. I will be addressing some stretching methods in the near future. An introduction to roller frames is in the works as well as a video which shows how to use a large roller frame to stretch 2 smaller manual wood frames. Thanks! Stay tuned!
What is you opinion on curved screen frames such as a half moon shape? Is it impossible to transfer the positive to the emulsion?
I don't have an opinion really but sometimes curved screens are necessary and there are different ways of going about it. But you can expose a curved screen. Some skate board screens are curved at both ends to fit the boards and yet other graphic industrial applications will have specially designed screens as well. Thanks for watching. Thanks Catspit!! You've lifted my spirits over the matter. I hope to share my projects with you!

I would just stretch them and if you are getting them tight enough the mesh will not have wrinkles. If you stretch them and still see wrinkles you are not stretching them to a high enough tension. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
Sir, If mesh was damaged after many times printing, should I only dispose the aluminum screen? Can the screen frame be reclaimed by washing?
I'm not sure what you mean. If the stencil is damaged you can reclaim it and reuse it. But if the mesh is damaged, then you may need to replace the mesh. Thanks for watching. Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - catspitscreenprintsupply.com/
Thank you sir, What I mean is can I clean the mesh adhesive and apply new mesh onto the aluminum frame? Our mesh wear after about 20 thousand times printing, should I dispose the mesh with aluminum frame together or can I reuse them by cleaning the adhesive on the frame? Thank you so much again and have a nice day!
LOL.... oh yes. You can take the mesh off of the screen and then use a fine grinder of sorts to remove the adhesive. Then it needs to be sanded and cleaned very well to be ready for new mesh. But yes, aluminum screens can be re-stretched.
Thank you so much!
You're very welcome :)
You know I’m not sure. I’d have to see what you’re printing and what you want to print to make a suggestion. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
LOL...Yes, I hate when that happens during recording. But you know these low budget films... :)
