I will remember this final until my last day.Was one of the best Wimbledon final I ever seen.Simona was from another planet when she played that final.
This was a different Simona Halep during this tournament, especially in the last few rounds. Whilst everyome was talking about Serena being clear favourite to win no. 24, Simona was quietly but ruthlessly going about her business. The way she started this final though was something else. She was in the zone right throught the match. Thats rare to see. i've only ever seen it a few times: Steffi vs Seles '92, Kvitova vs Bouchard '14 and Sharapova vs Serena '04 and Serena vs Sharapova Olympics '16(to name a few) This was the best i've ever seen Simona play. Well deserved
It was the best match of Simona's, so calm, resilient, powerful& confident at the same time. She wasn't intimidated by Serena any more& kept the same rhythm till the end. I just hope this crisis will end& we'll watch tennis again. I surely miss it. ❤
Just started watching the full match upload from last year! First live tennis I saw was Simona v. Serena in the ‘15 Miami semis, which went 3 sets. Simona’s shotmaking and movement was on display then and at Wimb ‘19, but her decision making was elite here. Simply dominant
Well-deserved title forever from my most favorite female competitor. Almost, she was really stupendous in each stage of the rallies. Long-term Wimbledon defending champion Simona Halep with this deferment to 2021
After one day from this extraordinary match , federer has lost wimbledon final to djokovic from 40-15 in 5th set. İ have never watched any points of federer djokovic mans final 2019 after that day. I am already sad for that and this is frustrated me . Whatever And this match is best women's final performance ever ı had ever seen
Me too😭. I was very happy after Simona's title, and I rewatch this final many times. Federer lost and my heart was broken. I don't think I will watch that final again
The match! Still remember Serena was hesitant, which very rarely happens, in taking the net. Simon imposed a cautious approach on Serena, in the final of Wimbledon! That's worth to review.
simona is too amazing not to win Australian Open. this is her best grand slam performance alongside with FRENCH open 2018 semifinal vs Mugu when she also dominated her
It is a shame she cant perform like this at every grand slam, especially at the US Open. I believe that Open is most likely the one to prevent her form reaching a career slam
Honestly, even with her history in the US Open, I though it would be easier for her to break somehow her "curse" there and FIRST reach far there someday than becoming the Wimbledon champion, she used to dislike grass, by far her worst surface and look at her now, I really hope (and know I think she could) win the US Open some day.
@@saul4th68 the problem is hard court is a surface a lot of players prefer. Wimbledon isnt and the lack of a proper grass season is why older players will keep winning the major. Unlike the US Open that has been won by young player in recent years. So yeah if she's going to win it she needs to change her entire mentality
Beyond human was this perfomance from Simona! But, without taking ANYTHING away from her, that was a dreadful perfomance from Serena: could not close a single rally even with her feet way into the court!
I think this was a boring match actually, very far from the best match play on grass... circumstances are so decisive in tennis... Zheng Jie, Pironkova, Radwanska, Hsieh would have might have won this match.
None of them have Halep's speed, return of serve ability or power for her size. Radwanska probably could have won but it would have been a very tight 3 setter.
@@tanmythompson2081 that's your opinion. A player's level fluctuates a lot. And, unlike popular belief, all of the players in the top 100 have way more common features than features that set them apart. A poor Halep would never win against a peak Radwanska or any other player I've mentionned. In the end all the scenarios are possible, we've seen this time after time, unpredictable upsets are no longer unpredictable. Anyway it doesn't change the fact that I found this match boring, despite liking both players.
This is somebody else's comment.
70% of the Earth is covered by water, the rest is covered by Simona Halep.
thanks for being honest :3

Tanmy Thompson actually the rest is covered by coronavirus 😅

The way she played from the 3rd round on at this tournament was phenomenal
she was on fire since the round of 16, but apparently unlocked the alien mode for this particular match. her diagonal shots were irresistible.
yup. she showed the crowd coco gauff still have a very very very very long way to go that day.
Simona was all over the court

As a Nadal and Serena fan it was reverse for me, because as a Nadal fan I view Djokovic as the lesser evil than Federer in slams for obvious reasons.

The perfect match from Sim❤na!
All the match is a story of Simona's big points !
Simona Halep, The Miracle, The Genius.
I wouldn't call her a miracle or a genius but she is one hell of a tennis player

Bravo Simona

She's made the semis before, beating Azeranka along the way,so it's definitely possible for her to win the US Open.
She said it's very hard to cope with the noise there. People are speaking during points& can't focus well enough.

Great job defeating Serena, she didn't really deserve it
halep focused and had great angles. serena was slow and looked like a chunk
