I've been putting alot more thought into my decisions when I'm looking at new palettes. Is it unique? What makes me want it? Packaging, shades? The brand? All of the above? I think about what I have that has the same vibe.
This is how I try to think about make-up now. If I see something and I want it, I try to figure why and if it's actually likely to be something I have already. Chances are, if I really like it I may well have been drawn to something incredibly similar in the past that I've already picked up.
I'm curious about the Hourglass holiday palettes this year as each one has new shades but I got a bit burnt as I got Snake last year and Tiger the year before and they are almost identical. I don't think I'll pick up any of them this year.
I’ve certainly gotten makeup fatigue a couple of times throughout the years. More so when I was younger, when I bought everything that I liked the look of, without checking what I already owned. Your situation is so different from mine. I don’t have a UA-cam channel, so I’m not feeling the pressure to constantly look for what’s new, and I don’t “ need “ to buy things right away. Nowadays if I find something that I like, I’ll put in the cart and let it sit for a couple of weeks. If I still feel strongly about it I’ll go through my collection to make sure I don’t already have it x 4. This has helped me to not get overwhelmed with products that I’m not going to get use out of. I’m afraid to even think of how much money I’ve spent on the wrong shade of foundation or the same colour eyeshadow💸💸💸. The feeling of fatigue is imo inevitable in todays society, the companies/ brands knows that the vast majority of their customers all wants the next shiny thing, to follow the trends - and they are more than happy to push products out! 💕
My channel is still very new and I'm treading that line of buying enough to do regular reviews while not bankrupting myself! I think a good deal of my content will end up being around being mindful when it comes to new purchases while still picking up what brings you joy. I'll see how I get on. I also try to add things to to my basket and mull it over. If you're lucky the company may send you a code to sweeten the deal.
Yeah I'm a sucker for perfume 😂😂

What I was kind of annoyed at today was Hourglass showing the new 3 holiday palletes that look just like the last 2 years. 🤔

@just_jem1 Same here. Both palettes I got are similar enough. It's the packaging that gets me mostly. I'm going to enjoy the ones I have already.
I think palette fatigue is inevitable. There's only so many colors and undertones. If you have a large collection, you've probably seen everything
This is very true. Every now and again though, a palette somehow manages to be fresh.

I think you should do a video on all your palettes and then see what everyone would like you to do a look on.
It would be a very long video! 😂
