That was so interesting to learn about the polymers to fix the leaks. I am enjoying all the hard work and knowledge you are sharing about building a pond. Truely fanisnating.
I don’t see how the owner who paid for a service and doesn’t own the equipment or have all the expertise of the company should be at fault. That’s why you hire a company to provide a service for you. No different than going through a fast food drive thru, buying a new car, etc. I’am curious to see what the company defines as a “leak”. Either way it’s more time, money, and a huge set back.
@@promontorium I work with General Contractors and work for a General Contractor. Unless the laws have changed or are different in Alabama. The excavation company who BamaBass hired was a pond builder if I recall correctly from the pond builder series. If the same company built up the foundation for a house and the house foundation cracked or the earth/grade failed it’s a similar problem as here. Again based on laws but, most states have a 1 year minimum clause for foundations/structures. The same is true for new builds on homes. He needs to check his contract and Alabama laws. Not to mention EPA as they are involved in water shed control. He is not at fault even if he acted as his own GC. The company who installed the product is at fault. Same logic if he or you hired a painter. That painter chose to air gun paint on a windy day. Then the paint blew over to the neighbors or onto the roof. Who is at fault? The wind, the painter, or the homeowner, or the PSI in the tank? The point Im making is that if the contractor and homeowner have insurance. Which both should. Then this also should be settled or considered by the insurance carriers. I also work with insurance companies everyday. Since it took 50 days to fill up they are within the 90 day probation period as defined by most contracts not excluding the 1 year minimum clause. That is if the last major work completed on the property fits that timeframe. Again, based on contracts, agreements, lien rights etc.
@@nathantraylor9601 You are correct. However, it also depends on the contract, if there is one. if the contract if for excavation, providing and spreading dirt ONLY, then they are not liable for anything as the contract does not stipulate a "waterproof system". Attention to details in a contract are crucial.
I used to work for a premier swimming pool company and one way we checked for leaks was to put a 5 gallon bucket fill with water in the pool. typically filled higher than the surrounding water to prevent it from floating. we would then mark the inside water line and outside water line of the bucket, leave for a few days return and measure the difference. this acts as a control for evaporation and rain
Hopefully that is the only part of the clay liner that is leaking. It could also be leaking on the bottom or on the other sides and you just don't have mud to reference cuz it could just be soaking back into the ground. Seems like this stuff would still fix it though! Very nice
Fully understand why we haven’t seen updates the last few subsequent Sundays….wow. I hope everyone can appreciate how much research, expenses, waiting, labor, timing, and execution are behind this video (the last one, too). As always, the updates never disappoint! Thank you Bamabass, super stoked to see the addition of fish. *Question*….10 million gallons of water (common rule of thumb: for every inch of fish, you need 1 gallon of water)-how many fish are you realistically hoping to add in the pond to start? Calculations say you could get away with hundreds of thousands.
I would think that the rule 1inch=gallon would go away with somthin of this size lol I know its a good rule for smaller tanks n stuff but with this it's almost the size of a small natural pond up here in MN I've seen huge crappies come out of 10 acre ponds lol
If he adds enough to breed they will multiply themselves to capacity and that capacity will grow as the ecosystem develops. It would be interesting to have some way of counting though.
I'm assuming the goop is deer safe if it's fish safe, right? following this build closely as I've got a plan to make a much much smaller one on my property. Love this series!
I"m so incredibly excited about this project. I can't help worrying about the unavoidable pressures of mother nature. With time she seems to ultimately win. In the mean time...bring on the bass!
Good luck with the leak! My aunt tried multiple different things to try to stop her pond from leaking, even draining 6-7 feet and digging up the area of the dam and re- packing with clay
Been following the series hope to build my own pond in the future you’ve given me tons of information but I would like some more 😁, Was that polymer expensive? Would it be a viable alternative to laying down clay?
I sure hope this works for your leak but I've never seen it work before this way. Usually you have to drain the pond and put it on the bottom or it will just blow away from where you want it. The builders should have a guarantee on that pond for at least a year.
I enjoy watching the completion of the pond. The stop-leak stuff seems kind of "hit or miss," but I hope it works. Since it's such a high dike in that area, you'd think they would have anticipated potential problems and added extra clay or some sort of underground concrete structure to prevent leaks. Can't wait for the fish!

Very nice
I saw the trucks dumping the clay, its seem unbelievable its leaking with so much clay and compacting, I really hope it works stopping the leak.
We need these videos more frequent man! I love this bass pond build I'm so excited!!!
Your channel is so relaxing to watch. I love it so much! Pond build is amazing, as well as watching the wildlife.
It's just a black coyote, it's alittle more frequent than an albino deer.
Yep.
It would be prohibitively expensive, and when it expanded would wreak havoc on the dam.
That’s a beautiful pond. Could you please provide the name and a link where the polymer was purchased? Thank you
LETTTTTTTTSSSSSSSS GOOOOOOOOO!! Favorite series HANDS DOWN!!
I thought is was supposed to be every Sunday new post I'm crying rn tbh
Holy crap that moonrise I thought was a sunrise at first. Both the moonrise and sunrise were AMAZING! Wow
That is a black coyote, they are very rare in Alabama but not unseen
Shpuld out a 360 camera in the middle with all the food Around it so we get close up on critters! Love it! ❤ Dark Yotti could it be a Wolf?
I used Soilfloc on my pond. It reduced the leak by 50%. Going to try another treatment in springtime.
Good luck, hope it works!
Thanks and happy to hear it helped your pond. Heard lots of good things about it
We need more frequent videos I always watch these on a Sunday it's the best part of my day when I see the 5 acre pond build video popping up.
I sure hope this works for your leak but I've never seen it work before this way. Usually you have to drain the pond and put it on the bottom or it will just blow away from where you want it. The builders should have a guarantee on that pond for at least a year.
I heard they do this with betonite, just dumping it in the water and fixing the lake, but I am very unsure how good its actually works.
You were the first fish UA-cam channel I ever watched like even before Paul curator
Should you have mixed both parts first so you'll get even coverage? I've enjoyed watching your progress.
I thought the same thing. Have to assume he read the directions tho lol
No, we applied it like you are supposed to. You can look it up, it's called Soilfloc
