I was lucky enough to see em live and i must say they were SUPERB. The great thing was the power went out and they didnt even stop for a sec, they kept playng unplugged in the ampitheatre we were in. Warnign, dont watch their fingers too long you ll get dizzy ;)
Check out this version, "For Sephora - Aljaž Gyurica in Luka Osmani (cover)" - two classical guitarists from Slovenia playing this song very emotionally, paying homage to great gypsy guitar virtuosos, two days before the end of the world. They play fingerstyle, simply insanely great.
Stocholo! You made me buy a gypsy jazz guitar today! I will learn this song at your online academy. Lessons after 42 years? Only you, Stocholo, could make an electric guitarist do this.
@@bradejensen I overbought guitars, gotta wait til payday. I published an art book and 2 music CDs, bought the Eastman DM-1, and a Floyd Rose for my Strat. It never ends!
@@bradejensenI got the speed - check out The Forgotten Chord on my feed. Problem is, I am used to a feather touch on an electric - when I try to go that fast on the Esstman DM1, the strings knock the pick out of my hand!
@Cthulhussama the gypsy jazz comes from the right hand technique :) look how it just floats there, playing rest strokes on every new string. up or down and it doesnt slow him down !
ufff.......versi'on absolutamente deliciosa, perfecta, delicada, con alma Para cuando una grabaci'on de Rosenberg, Lagrene, Paco de Luc'ia, Tomatito Por favor un disco de versiones d Django a 4 manos ...manouche y flamenco
@valkour22 I noticed that too! What an amazing player. Check out "Black Eyes" by the Rosenberg Trio. It is an amazing performance of a standard classic.
awesome :) this isn't at the north sea jazz festival. It's a performance on Dutch television which is included on the live at the north sea jazz festival DVD.
why not? i found out 2 weeks ago my left was stronger then the right. luckily other wise my task would have failed being pulling a string to dim the lights
@aristotle358 Agreed with everything except the relationship: Nonnie and Nous'che are brothers, but Stochelo is their cousin. :P But yes, they're fantastic.
Comparing guitarists that play to this standard seems somehow pointless, they are all very good at what they do, so it comes down to which one touches your heart, feels it the same way you do...there are many great vocalists but only a few that one loves... I have two favourite trio's...Rush and The Rosenburg Trio...I'd love to hear a version of "Sephora" by Rush...and a version of La Villa Strangiato" by the Rosenburg Trio, though I think they might both find it a bit of a stretch... :- )
just watch his hands and also listen ... you do this enough time you'll never need tabs plus your improves will improve drastically since you wont see the guitar in a bunch of boxes and licks just my 2 cents
+Bart Vergauwe This was the, "Coming out" party, for the group, as they, finally hit the, international, stage. His Mother was in the front row, along, with much of his family.
Seen and more importantly HEARD them with Grappelli at the NSJF in 1992..playing at the Philips Hall in the old The Hague venue as one of the main attractions already......so coming out?
Every once in a while I have to come back and listen to this. The tone is just perfect.
Same here. Such a good version of this song.
Yeah me too
The recording quality is outstanding
This is the best version!
One of my favourite songs of all time.

Dublin, Ireland? birelli lagrene and angelo debarre played Galway a while ago, so there's a good chance
id REALLLY like to have the rythm guitar tabs of this... Nousche for president
what is so amazing to me look at his picking hand,he seems to alway use down strokes.
He uses up and down strokes, the strenght has to be higher in the down ones tho
this guys are so sick...:X:X

@Cthulhussama, actually it's almost ALL in the picking hand. And his is very solid.

As far as I know he uses Galli Silk and Steel string - no idea what gauge but I'd guess 0.11

.. It is not from North sea jazz festival 1994. It´s from 1992 somewhere in Netherland.
Nevertheless legendary song..
Gypsy jazz is like fusing Bebop, Flamenco, Bluegrass into one entity (as if just ONE of the styles by themselves isn't difficult enough).
Somebody knows the string gauge he uses??? they seem preeeetty tough say 0.13? jazz guys use higher guages... Anybody knows?
@JeromeMaatz Please, don't forget his spiritual father, Django.
does anybody knows Nousche's part???? the chords... i really want to learn to play this with 2 friends

....NO WAY !!!
10 thumbs down? this world is fucked
wow, give him an electric guitar (now) and he'll be ten times better than yngwie J. M. Man what a great overall technique!!!!!!!!!
if only yngwie would get rid of his eternal star syndrome
I wonder how he would be on an electric guitar O___O
amazing music only a handful of people can do and STILL 4 people were like...meh, I'll dislike it anyways.
