That is the worst way of measuring the rain?
There is lot of errors you get by doing so.
Let me explain
When you take a 1lr water bottle and you cut the top, you get max. 8 to 10cm radius on the top. When i take the smaller bottle i get a smaller radius. The water level from the rain is based on the radius of the bottle right?
Don't you think, if i take a bigger bottle i get more water because the radius is wider and more drops i can collect. For smaller bottle i collect lesser water?
What if you get continuous heavy rain for 2 to 3hr. then how tall the bottle has to be. If you get a wind with the rain then you get very little water inside the bottle right?
So many errors. Iam sure there must a better way.
