Agave nectar. It's a sweetener alternative to normal sugar. It's also made from the same kind of plant as tequila

Exactly what I was thinking. I use the stuff in place of honey when barbecuing.
I don't think they use blue agave for syrup as the price is absurd vs the ones the use for mezcal.

The alcohol he drinks isn't very strong or at least not any stronger than what you can easily buy. His liver is fine and he's not doing any damage that anyone can tell just by watching his channel. Don't assume you know his life just because of a few videos.

The dry shake is a relatively new method, and not strictly necessary. Different bartenders will also tell you different things about it, not everyone does it!

Seems like tequila would be the target alcohol for this. Vodka is an interesting choice, but it would certainly lend itself to not affecting the taste of the fruits since vodka has nearly no flavor.
Nothing about this is a margarita. The whole point is to support the flavor of the tequila or mezcal. The only correct ingredient is the lime juice.
Love your work man! If you want a nice froth with this drink dry shake first (no ice) so that you can aerate the drink and then add the ice after and shake a second time. Cheers!

Bit of advice from a non-bartender but watched enough Vlad SlickBartender:
You can rim the glass with lemon or lime juice by hand, so you don't have to get the rimming thing.
You can also use a cocktail foamer as a replacement for egg whites

I studied Bartending and did a little Bartending when I did my OJT(On the Job Training) at a hotel, and I can honestly say, Ryan's enthusiasm is what I felt when I was behind the bar, even though I was just there for 2 days 😅
In my mind ryan is in a perpetual state of turning 21, having a ton of alcohol and finding anything he can find in his kitchen to put in it

My god I love watching your videos. I'm actually about to try grapes in gin, on day two right now, but I'm using green grapes and I just put them in the gin bottle because I didn't have a regular canning jar. Hopefully it turns out fine.

I checked the comments to see if this was stated before making the comment, but a margarita requires tequila or mezcal and NOT vodka.
He did use 1800 silver tequila in it.
He made the infusion with Vodka and then made a margarita with said infusion in place of the triple sec. Still used tequila.
Thank you for clearing that up. I was listening to the video, I never miss one, while responding to emails and missed that it was 1800 Silver during the hilarious part about the agave. I thought he was referring to an agave syrup due to missing that key line.
Well a margarita requires triple sec, which is basically orange vodka, aka what he made
@@SasukeUchiha-tc9xx actually Triple Sec has on average 5-10% less ABV than vodka. Doesn't seem like much, but it can drastically change the way a cocktail drinks. It's like using 100+ proof spirits in a drink that you usually use the standard 80 proof. You will know the difference.
Think the recipe called for agave syrup but tequilas close enough. I guess...😂

if you shake it enough i suppose the eggwhite would get less goopy and that might be what they mean by emulsify
