These Grendel books look great. Just ordered the first 3 from books etc. Alan Moore gives them praise and I love plenty of prose so they're right up my street.
Powers started at Image for the first volume, then went to Marvel for most of the remaining volumes, they did one original graphic novel at DC and now Dark Horse is reprinting trades for all of Bendis’s independent books.
Actually, Bendis & Omeing' Powers is the only creator-owned comic series with issues/collections been published by a multiple famous comic book publishers. First it got published from Image Comics, then it moved to Marvel (under Icon imprint), then moved to DC, and now it found a new home at Dark Horse Comics. On the side note, it did start as an initial pitch to DC before it switched with Image Comics.
It’s nice to see overviews of some Dark Horse books. They look like they’re all really interesting. FYI - Air ran for 24 issues at DC/Vertigo and the story got stranger as it got to the end. I loved that book!! Omar any chance you can ask DK if there’s any plan to collect Grendel as a Library Edition? I’d also like to see a second omnibus of Powers that matches the volume one from Marvel. 😊 Thanks
At the end of the latest Grendel series, Devil's Odyssey, three other limited series focusing on Grendel Prime returning to earth were announced so Matt Wagner still has some stories to tell. I'm eagerly awaiting these limited series since Grendel Prime is my favorite character in that saga.
You know, I didn't realize these 2nd prints were standard sized.....the 1st printings were almost digest sized. So I'll be ordering these to replace my 1st prints.
I love those EC reprints. I’ve been picking up some of the new trades that I missed out on back when the hardcovers were coming out. And I’m looking forward to Dark Horse doing the same thing with Creepy and Eerie trades so I can fill the gabs of my hardcover collection!
Any chance of an EC Archives video? Dedicated to what they actually are? they history, the different collections ? Cos Im an EC noob here, and Its quite intimidating to try and get into this line.
AIR lasted 24 issues and was collected into 4 TPBs by DC/Vertigo. Dark Horse seems to be using the same mapping as those old trades, so there should be 4 Dark Horse/Berger Books TPBs for AIR.
Are you gonna do a Gerard Way Doom Patrol Deluxe overview? I already have it, but it's my favorite comic run so it'd be really cool to see it and to spread it to others!
Omar, can you ask your contact at Dark Horse if they plan to reprint the GRENDEL TALES omnibuses too? The GRENDEL TALES stories were by other creators (not Matt Wagner) writing and drawing Grendel-related stories. Some of them were really good.
Could you tell DC that when they reprint the Batman court of owls absolute edition to not make those few pages upside down it gets irritating having to flip it around. I think we would all be grateful 🙏🙏🙏

since you obviously have an in road.. to Dark Horse publications.. can you ask them why they seem to be dragging their feet when it comes to publishing the E.C. Archives in paperback format.?. and why do they publish some titles and then just stop before that title is complete?.. ARRGH..!.. I have been waiting for years for them to finish.. Marvels such as Strange Tales and Journey into Mystery... as well as Boris Karloff's ...tales of mystery from Gold Key... why do they put out a few volumes then stop?.. it has been about 9 years since the last Boris Karloff archive has been published.... they aren't gong to stop in the middle of doing the paperback E.C. Archives as well.. are they..?..
