Oh jag you have made my grapes succeed. Every cutting I did as you instructed has grown... I have done it with figs as well. With the best success rates ever.. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ENRICHING MY KNOWLEDGE... I AM PREPARING FOR WINTER NOW...
I lived in Yuba City for 20 yrs & learned how to grow plants there, only to move to back to my native East Texas & having to learn all over again since we have more of a clay soil. I ALWAYS come to your channel to learn. I trust you more than any other horticulturist on youtube. Please keep the videos coming. 🙂
Very inspiring. I doubted my wife on the grapes but after watching your video, we will be going out to our singular plants and getting cuttings to make more. One cannot have enough grapes.
I currently have grapes fermenting turning into wine. I have access to 1 acre of grapevines and buy some of the grapes from the owner of the land. The owner sells grapes to a limited amount of people and tries to recoup the cost of growing the grapes. The work involved growing grapes is extensive work. I volunteer to help out in the small vineyard, cause I appreciate having access to the grapes, and it's interesting and peaceful.
I found air rooting along a stem was the easiest. I wrapped moist soil several areas down a branch, let it go for a month plus a week or two, cut them off and I had new starts. 🙂
I am a beginner in the field of gardening. Your videos are quiet detailed and informative. Will always wait for your bundles of videos... Want to be a legend in this field.😊 So keep posting
Hi I’m so glad I found your video. I have one Concord grape plant that is around 16 years old growing in planter. I have been going to the nurseries looking for another similar plant but nobody have it. So I was researching what to do and I came across this video. Thank you so much for making this video.
My grandma had the most amazing grapes that always grew a ton of produce and were the best grapes I ever tasted. When she died we sold her house but we're really wanting to take some cuttings to hopefully grow our own grapes from hers. This is really helpful.
Excellent! Very clear instructions, easy to understand and follow. And good videography! Thank you, I'll be starting several once my vines go dormant this winter.
I watched this video two weeks ago... Thank you so much. I now have my grape cuttings growing faster... I did what you said... I can not wait to see them in two months... In one week they have shot more leaves...
I don't know who's giving these dislikes... How cruel... Well it never matters Jag... He is in love with farming... And he enjoys it... That's all what matter... I'm also a big farming lover and you made me your fan. I have watched all your videos from inception. Hope I could meet you and take some tips someday
Great video , inspirational and somehow l end up here every single day .Sound refreshing when starting this hobby , Thank you very much may God bless you.
Thank you very much! We are moving and we have this huge old grape vine with the sweetest grapes ever, so we want to try and take them with us. Hopefully ours will grow as good as yours ♡
If your grapes have seeds, you can save some bunches (you dont need to take them off individually) and set them outside in cage or on a sunny platform to dry, then throw them in the freezer for a few weeks, (or months if you want) or leave them outside thru the winter (grapes need to be frozen for a period to germinate, called "stratification") and then put them in any kind of seed storage container. Plant them when it's appropriate. I find that keeping them together and planting them in bunches of 5 or 6 seems to work nicely. Your variety being adapted to your specific microclimate means I recommend doing as much of the process as possible outside, you will have better luck.
I have two cabernet and looking forward for this winter to make more after I prune…. Will like to double every year….. great video and content, will apply your method and will let you know! Lool
Thank you. Other videos don’t show how to actually collect the cuttings. Your video was very helpful. Do you have videos on caring for established grape plants?
Thank you, very informative and clearly explained. The only thing I would do slightly different is water the hole before planting so there is moisture underneath the plant too.
Love these videos, they have taught me so much (and I’m a country person). Please consider doing a video game on growing lilacs from seedling or trimming if you able to? There is not much info out there. Thank you 🙏
Hello Jack,Thamks for showing what u doing .Im glad to see what you done im learning alot thanks Jack ..Thank you so much i will try to do what u did .
Hi Jag. I have done the steps you have described. I am keeping the cuttings growing in a sunroom through the winter. Could you tell me how much to water them? Weekly, when dry, monthly?
Thank you for your help! We have two nice grapevines on our fence and we would like to have them all around the yard. Your video will help me get this done and the birds will be very happy with the food. Ma 2

Hi Jag. I have done the steps you have described. I am keeping the cuttings growing in a sunroom through the winter. Could you tell me how much to water them? Weekly, when dry, monthly?
Remember, stay out of the sun for a few days in the beginning, spray pure water and control the temperature at night like during the day.
What should be the distance between plants? Can they also be planted in tropical areas?
