I don't know why there is a planar portal in this deck.. The ability activation seems kinda unrealistic.. An Ineffable (to make thing cheaper) or the Spirit Dragon (to whipe the whipe) or a lotr ring (if it is legal) would seem more effective..

I think that chimil is a little weird in this deck because all cards besides the karn and the lotus it can hit are gamble and scheming symmetry, which both have downsides, regrowth and Channel, which is normally already in the graveyard. So it only really gives the benefit of giving your cards uncounterable. Also atleast one mystic forge should be included because all higher mana value cards are artefacts. Furthermore i think instead of god pharoh's statue a Lodestone golem should be included because it still taxes the opponent, but chimil can discover.

I would argue Chimil is pretty balanced. A six mana artifact that can be bounced or even countered before you get to take advantage of its effect. And you have the potential to absolutely whiff on its end of turn discover the turn you play it.

You can't pay life you don't have. So no.

Anything with "pay" requires you have the resource to begin with. If there was a cost that said deal damage then it would work. Platinum Angel would allow you to pay until you had 0 so at most it gives you 1 extra life/mana to work with.

I have a fun deck that I’ve been using in timeless you should make a video on it. You pretty much just counter everything and spell Pierce becomes a 1 mana pay 4 or counter spell. Here’s the list
