    Looks great mike, thank you for finally making a pin ball machine vid! 👍 I never knew pinball game play could be so entertaining.

    Great build. When you did a close up of the gameplay it looked like a real machine.

      Thanks! Yeah, it's very realistic, however, it really only works if you're standing right in front of it. The illusion breaks down if you're watching from the side.

    Had put off watching this video for a few days. Wow I am so impressed with your build. If you decide to license the games and go into production of these machines I would back your venture. (Though I am not rich, I could see were I might be when these table caught on.) To play an actual table that you could change the play field at random would bring back the era of pinball. And open up a new job market to produce new games.

    • @MikeBigFrog
      @MikeBigFrog  5 років тому +1

      Thanks! The software isn't mine to license. Everything is free and supported by a great community. The only thing I could sell is the cabinet, but honestly, it would be a crazy small niche market. There are a few companies out there that sell them in kits or fully assembled already. They run about $5,000 if they're fully assembled.

    Plunger? there are some really cool digital plungers that will add more realism. Great Job.

      @MikeBigFrog  6 років тому

      Thanks! At the time that I built this, there was only one digital plunger available and it was extremely backordered (not to mention very expensive). I don't mind the button, but it would have been cool to have the plunger!

    That is mental! I would love to make one.Very nice,and i guess that even if you play the hell out of it,the worst damage you can do to it, is on the buttons.

    Mike did you buy the coin door without the coin mech. on the backside or did you remove them and where did buy the coin door.
    I would like to buy the coin door without a coin mech. because it would be cheaper.

    • @MikeBigFrog
      @MikeBigFrog  4 роки тому +1

      The coin door came with the kit I purchased to finish off everything. I just found the link and noticed the price has increased quite a bit though :/ virtuapin.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9&products_id=35&zenid=h4slrhuofd5p4vuu2nb1b0v360

      @@MikeBigFrog Thanks for the info. But I do not want to buy the kit just to get the coin door. Amazon have a nice one that had a single coin & mech. door for $29.95 + shipping But they sold out back at Christmas and they do not know when they will get more. O well I will keep looking.

    Nice vid! The first thing i’m building after I move next month. Are u using 3x monitor or 2x and a dot?

    • @MikeBigFrog
      @MikeBigFrog  5 років тому

      3 monitors. I'm not sure what options there are now for the true DMD, but it was crazy expensive when I built this 5 years ago. The DMD is a tiny 16" widescreen monitor.

    What size tv did you use and specs and type of glass and thickness and size. This looks amazing

    • @MikeBigFrog
      @MikeBigFrog  6 років тому

      It's a 42" 1080p TV for the playfield. To fit it in the cabinet, I had to remove the plastic around the TV (voiding the warranty). The backglass monitor is a 32" 720p, and the DMD is a 17" laptop screen. The glass over the playfield is 3/16" tempered glass.

    I'd like to know the size of the monitors 43? 26?, brand names, model numbers and where you got the DMD and its size. I guess I'm asking for a build list (minus the PC parts). When I built my gaming PC, I kept a build list - I think everyone should. That was PinballX as your frontend, right? I just have a desktop setup with 45 tables and am having a blast. I've just started the PinballX part. I have 32assassin's wheel pngs, mp4s, and malarrya's xml. I'm also into emulating (PC LaunchBox/BigBox and retrogaming on the Pi 3b). Oh, for your video snaps, are you using mp4s or f4vs? Some youtuber once said they had to be f4vs, but it was an old video and I'm guessing we've moved on to mp4s since that's what my media download had.

    I am trying to build one. How do you know what motherboard to use? And how do you know how much RAM to use?

    • @MikeBigFrog
      @MikeBigFrog  5 років тому

      To make this work and work well, you need to build a mid-level gaming PC. If you're going with Intel, you would want an i5 and at least 16GB of RAM. The PC in this cabinet is 5 years old. It has a GTX 760 video card and 8GB RAM. The processor is AMD, but I can't remember which one. It was pretty fast with 4 cores.

    Can you tell about the amp and speaker system you used? which ones did you use for the speaker panel and which sub? is the amp powerful enough?

    • @MikeBigFrog
      @MikeBigFrog  6 років тому +1

      The amp I used is: www.amazon.com/Lepy-LP-2020A-Digital-Amplifier-Stereo/dp/B00C2P61FO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1534702605
      It's really powerful and I have no complaints about it.
      The speakers I used are: www.amazon.com/BOSS-Audio-CH6530-Range-Speakers/dp/B000J1FABY/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8
      They were on sale for $12 at the time. Pretty much any car audio 6.5" speakers will work. I suggest finding ones that you like the look of the grill. I ended up buying different grills for these because they didn't match the cabinet.
      Good luck!

    quick question where did you buy the bezel?

    • @MikeBigFrog
      @MikeBigFrog  3 роки тому

      Sorry for the 2 month old reply. Are you referring to the bezel around the backglass monitor? If so, I made that myself with acrylic from Home Depot. I taped and papered the center and spray painted the rest with black paint. Put that part facing the monitor and it looks clean.

      All of the new tables are defaulted to desktop mode. You need to edit the tables directly to disable desktop mode. There are tons of tutorials that show you how to do this.

    Hello! Its fantastic! iam triyng record your hardware: 42'' tv at 1080p por playfield / 32'' at 720p for backglass and a 17'' laptop screen for the DMD. U can tell the rest cpu hard? Love it

    • @MikeBigFrog
      @MikeBigFrog  4 роки тому +2

      The rest of the hardware isn't impressive or anything. The most important part is the GPU. The processor is a dual core AMD (I don't remember the model number) and it's got 4GB of DDR3. Having an SSD helps a lot too, but again, the video card is the part you should spend your money on. This one uses a GTX660.

    • @OtroPl4n
      @OtroPl4n 4 роки тому

      @@MikeBigFrog hello! You sure its a Dual Core? Iam using Dell i7 with 8gb of ram + Radeon R7 DDR4 512mb and when i star any table load for a seconds and back to main menu. Thanks

    • @cameronmcgehee
      @cameronmcgehee 4 роки тому

      @@OtroPl4n That sounds like a different issue, not a hardware thing. That hardware is more than capable of running pinball tables. Try checking and making sure you have your tables, backglasses, and roms all set up correctly. Also check settings and options in the software you are using.
