Happy birthday, Janina. I remember I discovered you in about 1978 when I bought an lp of you playing the Liszt Sonata, and I have been listening to your recordings ever since (I've just enjoyed your complete Chopin Mazurkas here), though sadly I have never heard you live. Maybe one day ...

Happy Birthday Janina! You play just as beautifully today (actually MORE beautiful, truth be told!) as you did when I first met you about 45 years ago. In New York. At ICM. I still ADORE your playing. Hugs!

Quite a concerto! What a program of pieces. It really paints the anxiety of Chopin at parties. Gorgeous technique and interpretation.

I feel more like it's MY birthday! What a treat to wake up to on this chilly Sunday morning in Newfoundland. Can't believe you are 70! (Can't believe my age either!) This video brings back so many beautiful memories. You are, as always, the most musical inspiring pianist. Thank you for sharing. xox Lisa( Mount Orford student)

If only we had had a pianist as brilliant as you when I was dancing in the Isadora Duncan Company in the seventies. Thank you for bringing your happiness, genius, and love to the digital world from Bavaria when most of us are locked down by this dreadful pandemic. You awaken the senses in everyone living and dead!
