    I DO like that Axis GP, If I was ever to make a purchase of a manufactured splitter, this one would be seriously considered. I wonder if the two slackers were out in the boat....?? LOL Have a great week my friend.

    Good morning Gord, put a game camera watching your dock and you'll find those two guy's who were missing while you were gathering and splitting wood. You did a great job with your video and the woods are looking good and you really caught the cuts before they were totally rotted. Sure added to Guy's firewood stack too. Looking good around there and that splitter is awesome. Thanks for sharing with us, stay safe and keep up the good videos and fun. Fred.

    You really know a splitter is actually fun to operate...When you even consider the notion of doing firewood in the heat of summer!
    If Andrew ever tries to take this splitter back...It will be like a video of a daycare when the Teacher announces, it is time to put the toys up for naps. There will be a group of grown men rolling in the dirt in tears, while kicking and screaming!🤣🤣

    Tried out an Axis today. Is an amaxing machine. Is absolutely perfect for being the firewood equivalent of "surgical precision" when it comes to getting the best wood out of an ugly looking chunk of wood.

    Good afternoon to you Gord. I thought I would pass along an idea that I now use for my own homemade carryall.
    I found a small model pickup tailgate web-netting at a yard sale. I mounted it to the rear right side, and placed the securing hardware for the loose end, on the left. Doing this, and since my steps are on the left, I can secure the load then get on up in the Captains seat.
    Enjoy your videos and your down to earth nature. Be safe.

    Gord, Another great video. I look forward to watching your videos. Thanks for sharing 👍
    I'm curious, do you recall how the two tines got bent on your Grapple? I have one coming and want to know what could cause that to happen.
    Thanks, Dan

    • @GPOutdoors
      @GPOutdoors  2 роки тому

      Good morning Dan - I certainly do - LOL. Operator error. I explained it on a few older videos, but it happened when I was removing large boulders. I didn't realize how powerful the jaw is and when trying to grip rocks, you will find that sometimes you try to grab too hard. I kept applying the jaw too hard against the rocks and eventually a few tines bent on me. My fault totally but a learning experience as often is the case. Cylinder pressure against granite...something had to give. :)) Good luck with your new grapple - I think you will enjoy it - it's super useful!

      Hey good day JO. Great question - not at all - the height is easily adjustable, so i set it so i can just pivot off my heel and not have to lift my leg, unless I chose to. Very comfortable but also smart that they made it adjustable. Cheers!

    I noticed that the Eastonmade comes up much higher than the height of the round. Is there a way to adjust the stroke length shorter?
    With each cycle it would save a couple seconds and the amount of wood you go through it would really add up. Bet you sure enjoy the cab when your back in the forest. Great videos. Russ. Esko, Minnesota

    • @GPOutdoors
      @GPOutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      You bet - it is easily adjusted to the height needed to reduce the length of the stroke and make it faster. However, LOL. I found that we often have rounds that are much longer than 16" so I just put it back up. Thanks - have a good one!

    Sure looks like a humid day. How does Guy prevent the yellow jackets and wasps from making nests in his wood shelter? Any tips?

    • @GPOutdoors
      @GPOutdoors  2 роки тому

      He doesn't - they got him last year -0( . But a great tip which actually works, is to spray each nest when they develop (in the evening is best) but the trick is to leave the nest there and not take it down. Wasps are territorial and will not make another nest there. I have been doing it for years and it actually works. Cheers!

    Hey Gordy. I am between the axis and the 5-11 I am a 1 man log splitting show. Which on do you like better for running alone. I am mainly looking to do bundle wood and smaller splits due to the size of my wood stove and for getting into selling. Thanks!

    • @GPOutdoors
      @GPOutdoors  2 роки тому

      Morning Nick. I enjoyed the 5-11 alot - not sure how old you are but for what you described above, I would go AXIS all the way. As a few folks said above - it provides precision , big working table and the largest log lift. And far faster than the 5-11- way faster cycle time. Although we can tow it around the property, I am finding now that this current setup seems to be best - right at the wood stack, I bring the logs or rounds to it, and then split and stack on the spot. If I were doing what you are looking to do, I would go AXIS for sure. You can manage the splits - no re-splitting at all. Good luck with your new business!

    • @nickcr1312
      @nickcr1312 2 роки тому

      Thanks you for taking the time out and responding! As all of us we aren't getting any younger lol. I am 44 but due to my profession my back has taken its toll over the years so the work height of the axis maybe my best option. I get a ton of tree service wood so the precision of the axis and big rounds I usually get sounds like it may be the way to go! Again thanks for the response I really appreciate and enjoy your channel!
