Rare red weather warning issued as Storm Babet hits UK

- A rare red weather warning stating there is a “risk to life” has been issued for parts of Scotland as Storm Babet is expected to batter the UK on Thursday.
The UK is bracing for heavy wind and rain from the storm, which is currently hitting Ireland after sweeping in from the Atlantic.
The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for parts of eastern Scotland on Thursday, while yellow warnings for rain cover eastern England and the rest of Scotland on Friday.
The red warning states there is “danger to life from fast flowing or deep floodwater” in Aberdeenshire and Angus, with extensive flooding and road closures also expected.

@@Idkwhattocallthis225 Oh yes, the winds will uproot trees and throw cars into houses, and don't worry about the flooding as it will only rise to around 140ft. In other words a typical weather pattern for the time of year, if you want to worry about anything, worry about your own soul and get right with Jesus, this life is but fleeting after all.

The rainfall forecast for NE Scotland is a roughly one in 30 year event for that part of the world. NE Scotland is actually drier than many of the resort towns on the south coast of England.

well, here in wales its been rain, rain, rain, with only a very rare sunny day, here & there, all summer & now, its just rain, rain, rain, all autumn & i suppose it will be rain, rain, rain all winter & spring too, if it carries on like this, i shall need to buy a boat to go to the supermarket at the top of my village, soon, sailing it along the rivers, that used to be avenues!!!!!😁
