New Otis cargo lift at Republic Plaza

Upon hearing that the left service car had completed replacement, I decided to head down to check it out. In all honesty, I probably shouldn't have as this replacement was horrendously disappointing. I get that the old cars were not in good shape, but really? The new car looks a lot more durable than the old one with its corrugated metal walls, but that's as good as I can say. No announcements, voices nor chimes, ride was rather shaky at full speed and worst of all, it travels slower than the original lift! Despite it being brand new, the counterweight also makes strange noises which can be heard from the landings as it passes by. Granted they did increase the capacity to nearly double the original, but given they didn't even increase the size of the cab, I wonder if its even necessary...
