If ever there was a book that proved sweet Christian romance novels do not have to be bland, this one does it! Jessie captures the perfect blend of tough and tender in Tough, who (when he finally talks) says all the things to Kelly we women LOVE to hear. Then Jay! That voice of Tough! Wow! The scene where Tough whispers to Kelly ‘choose me’ had the hair on this grandmother’s arms standing on edge!! Now, on to book 3!
I know the exact scene you're talking about, Miss Lois, and yeah, WOW! Jay just has that perfect hero tone that makes your stomach flutter and your heart sigh! There is no possible way that line could be performed any more perfectly.
It's so awesome to have these stories read by Jay! It's like having a beautiful painting and finally having the perfect frame to display it in. I just love the different character voices, and the emotion he puts into the scenes. Great story, very well read as always!
Absolutely love this series. I started it this morning and finished it this evening. It grabbed me right away and didn’t let go. Love the narrator as much as the story.
Can't say how much I loved this story and the narration! Jay makes these stories come alive and I love all the different voices! Jessie and Jay are the dynamic duo!!!! Love it!
This is my second Baxter Boys listen. This series is by far my favorite of your books. I’ve listened to several other of your books in different series. The characters are really well developed.👍
I love how Tough transformed around Kelly and that Kelly could love him in the end. I never get enough of the characters sharing their Bible knowledge when situations dictate it. This one didn’t have any
Oh I loved this story. Kellie is such a good person, giving her time, her love and her money to help children in need. Tough is a mechanic with a heart of gold, who gives the elderly free car repairs, as well as other low income people. But Kellie is engaged to a rich and high powered lawyer with political aspirations. But there is such a magnetic attraction between them, how can they ever put their lives together? Fabulous story.
It is so great to listen to these stories after reading the books. Jessie is a wonderful story teller and Jay is a marvelous performer. Thank you once again for sharing your talents with us.
And for our weekend listening... Saved and will enjoy another Jessie Gussman audiobook later today. Thanks for the great voice input. Happy Father's Day weekend!
This was a great book. I loved seeing the development of characters and their personalities and the decisions they made. A good book on being true to yourself. Jay Dyess Audio: I adored this book and audio. So much better than the previous one. I never questioned once who was speaking. I was fully immersed in the story. I cannot wait until the next audiobook by him comes out!!
Would you believe they are based on actual names of a family in PA? Torque Baxter was a real, live man. He made dump bodies for triaxels - Baxterbilt was his brand. Tough, Turbo and Tine were brothers who's family owned a trucking company and junkyard in my hometown years ago. : )
My life is on turmoil and ive been working on myself and finding my faith im praying listening to audio Bible and eliminating violent and tastlest movies music amd books especially ones with unnecessary vulgar sexual content. Ive had alot of loss due to violence and death im alone in the world and these books and Jay's narrative expertise sooths me and lets me lose myself in the stories and gives me hope
Thank you, Lynette. I'm glad we can bring you a little peace. I'm sure lots of people reading this (myself included, for sure) will be praying for you; just remember that with our loving God, you're never truly alone.
It took me longer this time, to listen to the book, due to COVID, but I finally finished it and really enjoyed it. Always a pleasure to listen to Jay Dyess, bring Jessie's books to life.
Yes Jay, I am so much better. Didn't think I would get it, after all this time and 5 vaccines. I am so glad I had the book to listen to. I couldn't hold a book for that long. Now onto the next book in the series.
I’ve enjoyed the series. I was bit perplexed over Preston’s comment of having a girlfriend and Kelly’s lack of reaction. That was a bit weird. Just my view point. But I have been enjoying these audiobooks. Jay your voices are amazing. So much emotion in them. Now on to book 3…Turbo. I have my name changed. Torque, Tough and Turbo…really. Lol 😂 I’ve had a hard time remembering which one is which. 😅. ❤️📖📖❤️
I loved this story, and Jay is so amazing, I think there are at least a dozen different voices in this story and Jay does a different voice for each one, and the old men are so fun to listen to. Amazing!
I'm nearing the end of this one and because I have done the first two, I will certainly finish with the third book, I'm no quitter lol However, this series has caused me more frustration and been the closest I have come to counting out a book as a dnf. There is a little bit too much angst for me. During the first one I was getting irritated by the constant yes, no, yes, no...lets be together, oh no we shouldnt of it all and I had hoped that this second one wouldnt be that same way, but this one did it even more. I wanted to jump through and shake the heroine and tell her to quit being so wishy washy. Yes you have seen lots of bad relationships and it's easy to get jaded, but when you also are seeing lots of good love around you, quit being such a damn pessimist. And being tempted to stay with someone you are just okay with for such annoying reasons makes you look shallow and a bit dumb. Quite frankly I'm more interested in 'seeing' our hero get his happily ever after than I am for our leading lady. She doesnt deserve such a good man. I truly hope that the third one has at least a tiny bit less of the same shtick as this first two. Good narration mind you.
In chapter 16 Dr T is first referred to as she. Then “He’s right…” by Harris. (Sorry. Sometimes my OCD kicks in. lol) I always enjoy the team y’all make.
Hi Ge, and thank you - so glad you enjoy these! So, about Dr. T - I actually went back and checked to make sure my memory was working, but in Chapter 4, Kelly and Harris actually have a friendly argument over whether they think Dr. T is a man or a woman. Kelly is convinced it's a woman, but Harris believes Dr. T is a man - so they actually should switch between he and she! Still, thanks for asking; knowing we have eagle-eyed readers keeps both Jessie and me on our toes! 😁😁😁
Looking for a story I thought was a Baxter brothers book. The story begins with a mother leaving her son’s with one of the brothers at a garage. I can’t find the story but would love to know the name of it. I’ve enjoyed all the books I read or listened to. Can someone help me find the book. I was listening to say it with Jay one night but fell asleep.
Hi Betty! I don't recall a scene like that at the start, but in Torque's story (Always With You, book 1), Cassidy leaves her adopted son Jamal with Torque at his garage later in that book (about three-quarters of the way through) - could that be it?
They sure are. Thank you for putting out. Wholesome good American stories. There is so little I can watch, read or listen to anymore that is not full of vulgarity and perversions. God Bless you and the Author.
I can't get enough of the audiobook the Baxter boys are awesome, now on to book number 3. @jaydyess congrats on your 3,000 Subscribers, and @jessiegussman another great book, 👍🏾 you are my favorite novelist. God bless you and Jay 🙏🏾♥️
Hello, Yolanda! Thank you so much for your sweet words, but I have to say I have a "secret" weapon in my corner - Jay creates such real characters and brings stories to beautiful life - he makes my writing and my stories so much better than what they are on their own. : )
@@JessieGussmanauthor I agree with you, Jay is awesome and he surprises me all the time and when he does 3 voices at one time wow😯 @jaydyess you rock 👍🏾

Hi Melinda! Don't worry, it's coming - we wouldn't leave you hanging! I need to confirm the exact date with Jessie, but right now, it's on tap for an August release!
I love that it is about a common day man working hard and being compassionate.
I think that's a really common theme in most of Jessie's stories, Sandra, and I really like that too!
If ever there was a book that proved sweet Christian romance novels do not have to be bland, this one does it! Christian? She’s literally cheating on her fiancé half the book.
Jay brings Jessie's stories to life. I love to listen to him.
Thank you so much, Bonnie!

I love the Baxter Boys series. The stories are heartfelt and inspiring. Jay does a wonderful job narrating them,
