Man, this reminded me that my old elementary school was built like a castle. Concrete wall surrounding the whole thing, on a hill, the works. I'd only have to block off the road that leads up the hill to the administration building and the singular staircase down to the kindergarten, where the walls aren't as high. It was a private school, too, so I don't know how beholden it is to that alternative care site thing. Plus, the gardens were always really nice.
@@SergioPerez-vm8zw my high school was in a legit armory from the 1800s. only 6 windows per exposure, super narrow, only metal doors on first floor. no windows. Great fort.

This immediately made me think of the anime, High School of the Dead. The school was fenced off, but all it took was one teacher being bitten through the fence and the on-campus epidemic was off and running. In fact, the first couple of episodes were about surviving and escaping from the school.
I think I remember hearing of that anime several years ago, was probably not even a teen yet. I was so traumatized and scared I couldn’t even get through the first episode. I was in tears. Never got back into it after that.
God, just the title brought back memories of me and my friends discussing our “zombie survival plan” during our sixth grade recess. We all had a few stops to gather supplies but we all agreed that our main base would be the school. We even theorized the buildings weak points and how we’d fortify them.
well, like a 2 years ago (7th grade?) I and my classmates were discussing the same thing. then 1 our classmate started telling us about it, but I started my speech, so he had to stop telling about his own plan. Later that classmate died of brain cancer and has never finished his zombie plan😪

Well the next day it still hurt and the bump wasn't gone so my dad got me out of school and took me to the doctor. Turns out I broke my arm and the bump was my bone which was dislocated.
If there was a zombie apocalypse, a school would be the last place I would want to be because there is too many people and we all know how that goes, one person gets infected and then the rest go down.
It's also important to note that if the apocalypse doesn't happen on a day off of school, there's already gonna be hundreds, and in my case of a 3 school campus, thousands of people already seeking shelter
Incorrect. A zombie apocalypse doesn't just happen out of the blue, there's usually a sickness spreading around before the even itself pops off. Literally every single day will be a day off of school because the government won't allow school to continue when there's a deadly disease on the loose.
@@Tomos_J-J school is a few hours a day for 5 days a week, i calculated that kids would be at school from 7 to 5 a day, thats 10 hours 10/24 is .42 of a day of school, multiplying that by the 5/7 chance of it being a day of school gives us a clean .3 and since most schools have even less at school time its even less than .3 you cant just fucking base it off of a day because zombie apocalypses can start at night when nobody is at school, so i calculated by hour.
Not only would there be other people seeking the school for shelter, wouldn’t there be lots of Zombies already in these schools? Due to the fact that there are only like 2 days a week that schools aren’t open ( except in summer ).
My old school growing up had heavy-duty fencing with a coded lock and a long stretch of tarmac after that which was ideal for placing traps. i feel like a school would only be a good idea if you had a large group, that way you can actually make use of all that space. It would be a good location to set up like an apocalypse village type thing that you often see in apocalypse stuff.
At my highschool it dates back to nearly the start of WW2 and in the basement it use to be used as shooting range! And than there is one room that is like a mini panic room. No windows, extra think brick walls, a bullet proof door, and so on. It’s definitely an old school but like bruh… I live not even 2 minutes away from it too. You forgot a con! If the apocalypse starts when it is school time and one zombie gets in... there will be hundreds of zombies there when you come there, maybe even more depends on how many people has tried to loot it before you!

I have been to a school with a 2-inch thick bulletproof glass on the doors and surrounding the principal's office. Along with 4-inch thick concrete and brick walls. The kicker was this was a middle school, in a well to do neighborhood.
Another problem with the school being used for a care sight I that people will go there if they were bit and when they turn most if not everyone in there will be turned and then you have a Loa of zombies making it unsafe
That moment when your school has no cafeteria: Well shi- That moment when your schools field is made out of fake grass: Fuc- That moment your school has no fence or gates around your school: Damn it, why do you hate meh! When your school has no metal or wood shop: Well f*ck. Time to use Bob's fake leg!
Farm house, I mean...what is difficult in that one? Sure, it’s more difficult to get access to Internet for news, but...other than that, it’s way safer since it’s located in a less population-densed place, the soil is probably gonna be fertile, countrysides are more keen to have larger precipitation amounts meaning more water supplies and many more things that I’m sure the comment section will know about...
Well just saying for one, farm house is secluded, so it has pros and cons, one is you won’t have to deal with many walkers, but if you need supply’s such as medical it might be better to be in the city where you could find more things faster, but being on a farm could be easier at providing food
Since you was talking about your average everyday high school, that means that my plan for the zombie apocalypse will work in my manner. I've been doing research about it for months now.
That moment where your thankful you befriended the Janitors, AKA now the few people who know where the keys to the storage rooms are, which means you get food, and supplies, and a hiding place.
I would argue that a school is not great for short-term survival, but it is great for long-term once you start rebuilding a larger community. You have enough people to secure the perimeter, and most survivor communities will probably be somewhere else. It is not likely zombies would break through the fence.
Another possible con: unless the apocalypse starts during the weekend, that school is going to be full of student zombies. And it's gonna be even more full of zombies if it was being used as a shelter for the community. You'll probably be killed trying to clean the building
What if u had a safe population on a island with no zombies . Being on a island would be great cause 1. Zombie skin is so fragile that they can’t swim because if they were on a beach the waves would be so strong that the would slowly rip or break of cause of rotten blood and will push dem away 2. U are surrounded by water for once so they can’t get u but if one person gets bitten then u just kill that person right away . 3.donald trump can’t even follow people to an island . 4. Animals like predators or birds can’t be effected by the zombies cause the fur or feathers are blocking the zombies smell that’s why if u have a dog ( at lease a toddlers height ) u can protect a family or don’t have to feed ur dog (sometimes) cause a zombies organ Guts still have some fresh blood meat . 5. It can take 20 ships to board in 1000 people and it takes 20,000 humans to be in a island and then repopulated the land that mean with all the supplies on 20 ships u can have a school ,hospitals ,military camps , restaurants, shelters ,trees ,plants ,animals guns ,medicines, first aid ,food , construction sites , and many more ......
Gamer kanali do u mean if a zombie bites the dog or if the dog eats the wrong flesh ?🤔 I may of gave a example of a safe place but I if u mean one of them .zombies can’t effect animals cause of the fur and they can’t effect the other zombies cause it’s all ready rotten ,so if u did kill a zombie u could be hidden just don’t be grossed out for wearing a zombie armor.
My school literally teaches all of its students survival and leadership skills. Not only that, they have survival equipment at the school The school is also a very small high school which means fewer potential zombies
The one negative that is always going to be an issue. There is a chance that the school is designated as a emergency shelter. So zombie apocalypes means there will be people there. Either alive or zombified.

Really I’m just grateful to get to spend my time here, besides I’ve had life-long friendships with girls I met in preschool and I still study with. So yeah. It’s nice.
The high school in one city i lived in was actually built like prison. It was originally designed to be a prison but for some reason it never became one so the city repurposed it to be a high school. It doesn't look 100% like a prison of course, but whole walking through it and looking at it's build and how the windows are, you can easily tell it was designed as a prison first
I didn’t thought of it much but i saw a comment about my school in a UA-cam video posted by someone that lived in the are for a while, but thinking about it my school does look like prison the first thing is its not open like many other schools, its like a rectangle the lines being class rooms and middle being empty, there is few entrance but those doors are about 20 inch thick metal, there is only one entrance without door and it as a long ass stairs to second floor, it also have this weird bell 🔔 tower but that bell is never used which makes me wonder the real purpose of it there is also a stairs to rooftop (3rd floor) in ever corner of first floor roof top there is few locked rooms that have access to first floor roof top
@@tommy.vercetti2003 You mean 2 inch? A 20 inch thick metal door would make it a blast door for a bunker. I hope it's 20 inches because that just sounds so wild, like...I have know how that got approved.
Same with the highschool I went to. (look up Centennial Highschool Las Vegas) The place is built like a fortress and we used to comment on it. 2010 was wild since we were still recovering from 08, doomsday preppers was on tv, the walking dead made its debut, and a bunch of other post apocalyptic movies and games were out. So the conversation would always circulate around for fun. During a group project in computer class however, we discovered something crazy about our school and the others built just like it. We were always being taught a couple of odd-ball programs just to give the students some intellectual flexibility so one day they were teaching a basic CAD program and the project was to design a school. So me and my friends decided to go to the Vegas Public Library that saturday and ask for our school's layout to use as a reference (we brought a note from our teacher and school IDs). When they brought us a blueprint we were shocked to actually see everything in detail. The walls are 6 1/2 feet thick concrete with brick outer layer (4ft on the second floor), there are two wells, a backup generator room, only 4 main entreeways, the courtyard is surrounded by another set of steel fencing that is over 15ft high, wood shop, auto shop room (converted into an njrotc room but the layout is still there), Library, computer lab, home ec kitchen, chemistry labs, four irrigated sport fields (all fenced off), a gardening class building, nurse station, and a cafeteria that feeds 3,000+ people a day. The school sits overlooking the valley on the south west side and the western side faces the 215 highway with two 50ft berms then another field between the outer fences by the baseball and softball field. The place is a damned fortress!? We all agreed right then and there that we would take over the school or die trying lol.
Jason J I don’t wanna be that guy but bullets (and knives) wouldn’t do well because piercing doesn’t really hurt zombies, which is why baseball bats do so well
Con is being in the middle of a city you're more likely to encounter more zombies than you would somewhere more rural. Another is being used as an emergency shelter, chances are one or more infected people will, if not have already made their way in there with multiple other people, causing an outbreak from within. So even if you find a 'abandoned' school, chances are there will be some surprises hidden behind one or many of the hidden corners of the school. I don't know about what's common in schools, but none of the schools I went to ever had a proper fully fleshed out nurses office. It's always been this tiny section in either the secretaries office or guidance office stocked only with bare minimum first aid kit supplies. Usually just band-aids. So I wouldn't put too much stock in it having proper medical supplies. Pro, specifically for schools with multiple floors. They are easier to defend if you sacrifice the lowest floor and block off the stairways. Keep one controlled entrance and exit for scavenging, the others guarded and you should be able to hold out longer than you would on just a single floor. Board up the windows with 'infected inside' on them and you up your chances even more as people will either avoid it entirely or tunnel in with caution from the lower floors, allowing you to defend yourselves in a controlled environment. As long as you don't make it seem like too much activity is going on inside, people should leave you and your group alone and you'll just have to deal with the zombies.
It depends on what time the zombie apocalypse happened if it was school hours steel when it happened then it's overrun and so you're sort of screwed so if the shopping on the weekend then you're okay except for that one part that while everyone goes there

Looters could climb over fences or walls, so while you wouldn't have a hoard of zombies you would have a smaller number of enemies that potentially have guns or other weapons, making them a threat as well. I assume that is what he was referring to. He still could have made it more clear.
The school across the road from my parents house would be perfect - 1)it has a combination brick wall and steel fence perimeter. 2)it has shutters covering all windows and doors, when the school is closed. 3)it receives bi-weekly food deliveries, so the food stores should be fresh. 4) there's a park at the back of the school, that can be used as farmland. 5)it has solar panels on the roof, so it wouldn't be affected by the inevitable blackouts. 6)its in the middle of a residential area, so plenty of cars to choose from for supply runs when needed.
I went to Ray High School and it had a VERY sturdy fallout shelter in case of a nuclear threat. But solar panels and all that other stuff you mentioned? Very nice.

Honestly I feel like a hotel wouldn't be worth the time/effort because depending on the situation you would have to clear every room on every floor and who knows what could be behind any door and also there probably won't be anything worth looting like food/money because chances are a mojerty of people would have already left with their stuff only things I would go there to get would MAYBE just be blankets, pillows, soaps, but then again depending what type of infection it is it could be in the blankets/pillows so no I would not think a hotel would be that good

This immediately made me think of the anime, High School of the Dead. The school was fenced off, but all it took was one teacher being bitten through the fence and the on-campus epidemic was off and running. In fact, the first couple of episodes were about surviving and escaping from the school.
In Gakkou Gurashi the entire main cast almost died because they brought one infected guy to the roof with them
I thought this too, glad I wasn't the only one.
Bro, I thought of that too, I loved that anime, watched it about 4 times now but thinking about watching it again

U had some fun friends
well, like a 2 years ago (7th grade?) I and my classmates were discussing the same thing. then 1 our classmate started telling us about it, but I started my speech, so he had to stop telling about his own plan. Later that classmate died of brain cancer and has never finished his zombie plan😪

thats a 20% chance.
Incorrect. A zombie apocalypse doesn't just happen out of the blue, there's usually a sickness spreading around before the even itself pops off. Literally every single day will be a day off of school because the government won't allow school to continue when there's a deadly disease on the loose.

City house, zombies will run out of food and move and never come back.

In a zombie apocalypse situation I bet the military will check schools first, if not make them into outposts

Normal situation: school kills us..
Zombie apocalypse: *ArE ScHooL GooD fOr ZoMbIe APoCaLyPSe?*
It depends on what time the zombie apocalypse happened if it was school hours steel when it happened then it's overrun and so you're sort of screwed so if the shopping on the weekend then you're okay except for that one part that while everyone goes there

"We're not talking shout the zombies that sprint and climb walls."
"You can climb over the walls/ fences"
Looters could climb over fences or walls, so while you wouldn't have a hoard of zombies you would have a smaller number of enemies that potentially have guns or other weapons, making them a threat as well. I assume that is what he was referring to. He still could have made it more clear.

High schools in USA don't have walls and fences going around the whole place. So no farming outside

My school still has a bomb shelter Its a very old school also it has a green house
OneShot Demon that’s kinda cool
Mine was built in 1934 but i live in Australia so..
Tea Sister Australia is a made up place
My school also has a bomb shelter.
My school has a bomb shelter still but it’s so old and they didn’t keep It up. So it’s very unsafe to go in it.
The school across the road from my parents house would be perfect -
1)it has a combination brick wall and steel fence perimeter.
Pretty nice but at the same time if its in a residential area a lot of people might go there....
I went to Ray High School and it had a VERY sturdy fallout shelter in case of a nuclear threat. But solar panels and all that other stuff you mentioned? Very nice.
@@creepergalgames519 well I mean, from where I live tbh I would say, get a group of people, 20-70 and, if you are like where i live, take all of your guns. If you get there early enough, threaten to shoot anyone who tries to come in, also we have the middle and elementary school near each other so we could say just go there
Dam Lucky, My school is small and another thing is It has no Field, just a parking lot in the front and the sides. Behind the school is just a lake ._.

Hope to see a video about hotels soon
Honestly I feel like a hotel wouldn't be worth the time/effort because depending on the situation you would have to clear every room on every floor and who knows what could be behind any door and also there probably won't be anything worth looting like food/money because chances are a mojerty of people would have already left with their stuff only things I would go there to get would MAYBE just be blankets, pillows, soaps, but then again depending what type of infection it is it could be in the blankets/pillows so no I would not think a hotel would be that good
@@haichu5371 Ohh! What about police station ??
Well they hae the advantage of having food and more things that can be used in an apocalyptic senario , they are hard to protect due to their structure and lack of security compared to even a school.
each room has only on way in and out if you don't want to jump out a window.
