So, does that mean that families with embryos can claim them on their Taxes ? Add them to their medical insurance or when the embryos are 5 the parents can send them to school ? What happens to the embryos if they're kept frozen for 18 years does that mean there on their own ? Does this sound as dumb to you as it does to me ?

If embryos are children then it would be illegal to freeze them at all- because you can't freeze children. Only fresh transfers would be allowed. But if it is allowed then the parents would need to come to the lab and visit them every day, otherwise it's parental neglect. Or maybe the goverment may transfer the embryos to a foster family. And if you are divorced and have 6 frozen embryos, prepare to pay large child support.

Are they going to audit each tax return to say, whether or not, they actually have proof of birth? Before, birth was delivery, as deduction for dependent, but claiming they are now life, then, automatically they are now dependent. Think of it dependents without shelling out money, but a tax deduction/exemption for state taxes/possibly Federal. Boy, are tax offices going to go crazy.

I never thought of myself as a family man, especially now, I am over 60 and not only do I plan a very large family, I am going to help others plan theirs. It is not just about IVF, but also about emergency power, the best freezers and even taking care of the families of many others.
Becoming a family man does require a lot of thought though. I want them to be Christians too. I will always surround them with pictures of Jesus and the cross no matter what. All of my children will remain comfortably cold and stored at exactly the right temperature. However, I have no intention caring for them when they become adults! Then they must go out on their own and will be kicked out of the best freezer so that I may start a new family.
Thank you Alabama and thank you IRS for making this possible and most of all, thank God for answering my prayers as I know he wants me to be rich.
Now, I better plan my move to Alabama. One more blue vote

It's almost like you have to demonstrate why an immoral ruling is immoral to the people who supported it.
I do feel terrible for the people affected, but my heart also breaks for the women whose lives and bodies sustain sometimes irreconcilable damage due to being forced to carry an unwanted or unviable pregnancy as a result of this same legislation.
If these people want support, they should be very clear that they also support the other side of this same argument. If it's fine to leave a "baby" in a freezer for decades, it's fine to remove that "baby" from the womb. If those embryos are not people, neither is the embryo in a pregnant women's womb.
This isn't a quid pro quo thing, they literally can not successfully make this argument without acknowledging the flip side (that banning abortion is a sham) and they shouldn't be up here defending the "well intentioned" motives of the people who have decided to rob all women of their reproductive rights.

There is a much higher chance of a viable pregnancy if the eggs are fertilized before freezing. I feel for these women. One another side of this story, frozen embryos that are leftover after the parents have the children they desire, these extra embryos can be put up for adoption. Due to being on birth control pills to help decrease the pain of her cycle, my sister went through early menopause, but didn’t know it. She really wanted a child and adopted an embryo. She has a beautiful, smart little boy. She would never have likely been able to have a child if someone else who had difficulty getting pregnant hadn’t gone through IVF, then put up the rest of the embryos for adoption. I would have done the same thing, except my job wasn’t flexible enough to be a single parent, and my fertility problems required me to have a hysterectomy.
