Oh wow. Can't believe they have done one for the trx4m now 🤦♂️. Great in depth video that will certainly help out with the builds of this amazing looking beast. Good job great tips and tricks 👍
Thanks 👍 glad you enjoyed the video.
nice! I just got my TRX4M and was eyeing the Ripper...this looks awesome!
The ripper really transforms it!!
I just ordered my ripper and now I have a better idea of what I’m getting myself into and what needs to be done.
It’s a great build overall!
Ordered mine this morning. Cant wait for it to get here so i can build it
That’s exciting for sure.
Ripped TRX4M! Meus is killin it. Cheers Ken
Huge thanks for watching good sir!!!
This is the first thing that has made me want a TRX4M
It’s a pretty sweet little rig.
Love it..great video..definitely gonna build myself one
They are fun.
Great ripped Trx4m build🤙
Thanks 👍
Exactly what ive been waiting for!!!
We’ve been waiting to show it!! It’s so awesome.
I remember doing that Baal joint trick when I built a RC -10 gold chassis
For sure!
Ripped trx4m! 🤘😁🤘
Soooo rippped!!!
Just ordered one of these! Waiting on it in the mail. Do you have any suggestions/ video coming on upgrades for this
Any upgrades you might do on a normal TRX4M could help. Good servo. Good power train. Maybe some weight. Some good shocks, All that good stuff.
This is the only video that may persuade me to buy a TRX4M. Then to gut it to make a Mues Ripper. 🔥🔥🔥
honestly, its one of the main reasons I got mine.. because I knew it was coming... butttt then, like all other mini crawlers, they multiply. lol
It is better to buy a Meus ripper and then install furitek's Trx4m kit. buy a real controller and buy trx4m spare parts or aftermarket.
Ripped TRX4M 😊
Thanks a ton for watchin!!!
"Ripped TRX4M" for sure. I can see that little rig being pretty capable on the rocks with a couple upgrades and a bit of tuning and tweaking. I have to agree with the tx/rx really being lacking for the TRX4M's. A 3rd channel and a little more adjustability would go a long way.
We would have loved a 3rd channel.
Love to see the TRX4m progression! It's more capable than the SCX24 in every way!
Mainly because it’s bigger. That’s the biggest reason. Just like the Mini Capra is far far far more capable than the TRX4M. Size matters a ton.
Not really I build my Scx24 stretched overdrive and just as wide has almost the same turning radius and is better over the rocks
Excellent video! Ripped TRX-4M!! Wondering if this body and cage would fit on the Furitek Cayman chassis? Similar dimensions to the TRX. Thoughts?
This thing IS the body and chassis. You just need a skid plate for the scx24 trans. There is also an scx24 Meus ripper, it’s slightly smaller and uses all m1.4 hardware.
The trx uses m2.5 hardware. The fcx uses m2. The cayman is a mix of fcx and scx.
All that being said, with enough effort anything is possible.
What did you use to space the shocks out to be able to mount them?
Pretty sure it came with some smaller spacers. If not, it’s something I would have had in my parts bin from other shock sets or chassis builds. :-/
I'm having trouble with the servo tray. @9:41you mention popping 2 screws out and getting the servo tray in but then cut the video to the steering link. Am I supposed to use the top 2 screws from the diff cover to attach the tray in? The ones I have aren't long enough to grab any threading. What am I missing?
there should be some longer included screws to screw the servo tray into the diff cover. the stock ones will be too short, but again, there should be some long ones with the servo tray kit
I have so many builds on my list at this point it will take years ...and im ok with this.....😊
Hahha we know how that goes.
@@TheShopMiniRC its great luv taking them apart and building them up more happy wrenching all day then driving lol
That definitely is one "Ripped TRX4m!!!”, and almost makes me want to get a TRX4m...but, as you said, the stock electronics are garbage/useless/worthless. Traxxas could have done a MUCH better job with them. For the ESC, I agree that Furitek is one alternate...but, another possibility to consider might be the HW Mini28. I know it's not "designed" for crawlers...but, looking over the programming options, it could work (drag brake can even be set up to 100%).
Regarding gluing the headlights, just thought I'd pass along a tip. Whenever gluing clear/translucent plastic, I never use CA. If any gets onto the plastic where it's viable, you'll easily see it causes a 'frosted' appearance. Instead of CA, I always use a glue gun, applying the glue from behind - it holds just as well as CA, is less 'permanent', and doesn't cause that ugly 'frosted' look. 🤙🏼
All great tips!!! Going brushless requires all new electronics on most rtrs anyway, sooo we just kinda give stock electronics a pass sometimes.
@@TheShopMiniRC And, sometimes, we "have no choice" but to use brushed - ex. certain classes for racing Tamiya, the 'Box Stock' class for Mini-Z racing, etc. I know a lot of comp crawlers still use brushed...but, they're slowing switching over to brushless. Personality, I think the only vehicle I currently have with brushed (other than those required to have brushed) is my SCX24 Jeep...and, that's only because I haven't gotten around to installing them brushless system.
@@ninthislandrc brushless crawler is a game changer.
Got my kit home this week and have put it together. Unfortunately, the whole front design is wrong as the steering arm goes against the body when the suspension is compressed.
I talk about it in the video. There are also ways to adjust it and make it less likely to hit.
Hey do you know how to turn the headlights on and how to change the light bar to on like you have it mine is on one of the cop settings flashing red and blue
If you have the light bar plugged into the y-splitter and into the channel 1 (steering) you can quickly turn left and right max steering and it should switch.
How did you coil the wires?
Just wrap it around a screw driver.
Where did you get the light bar
It’s on the Meus ripper page.
You can bind a TQi remote with a Bluetooth chip and get a lot more tuning options.
Yep. That means buying a new remote. Still has the worst electronics of all rtrs.
@@TheShopMiniRC I was mainly referring to if you had one. Not meaning to buy one.
@@DadsRCGaragePNW gotcha. No, we don’t have one. Most of these will get a new rx all together anyway once we go brushless.
@@TheShopMiniRC I’ll send ya a Facebook pm about the old ones. Lol
I have to injora 59 mm shocks. I’m afraid that if I get this kit, I will not be able to angle them to get the heighg position lower like I can with my lcg injora carbon fiber chassis. Can you provide any input on this? Im running stock axles
This chassis has a good number of shock mounting holes. You should be able to get it pretty slow.
I have another build video here: ua-cam.com/video/3Vl-p2E7v58/v-deo.html
@@TheShopMiniRC thanks. I ordered the meus ripper with fj grill in black. Also ordered the furitek starter 118 with the tx/rx and used a coupon on furitekusa “thankyou10” for 10% off. Have you tried the furitek Venom motor on the Trx4m? I’m curious if it sounds just as loud as it is in the fury wagon
I love the aesthetic, but it needs some bigger tires to be a performer.
100% agree. We can do a lot of good upgrades on this guy!
anybody knows if this new servo tray will fit the actually good and usable servos (agfrc, nsdrc, reefs, injora etc), and not just the stock garbage one?
yes, the nsdrc, reefs, ogrc, afgrc and others will fit the tray just fine. You may want to add some spacers to the mounting to move the servo forward just a tad if they are longer servos so they dont hit on the stock motor, if you have a differnt motor, you are probably fine. Just be sure your drag link isnt at too much of an angle
I don't really care for the mini's....but that one looks amazing!
It’s completely stock and performs great!!! Even better once we upgrade.
Will any fms parts fix this chassie
Yeah. With a little work. TRX4M uses m2.5 screws where as fcx24/18 uses m2.
But you can make it work, many have.
@@TheShopMiniRC thank you. I was thinking Lc80 internals swapped over to this chassie. And just keep my fcx18 rails for another project.
@@julionieves8090 it would work well for sure!!
Oppai Factory on Etsy and fb make a TRX4M skid that will let you mount the fcx24 trans. ;) if you’re using an lc80 as a donor, you only need the skidbhe makes.
You can use the stock skid too but it might need some trimming and adjustment. But it’s definitely been done.
@@TheShopMiniRC thank you sr. I appreciate the info. Video idea fcx ripper chassie using fcx24/18 parts. 2 speed ripper 😎🤙
I have trx4m it cool loved it so I ordered one ripped is cooler
Yeah. Such a good transformation.
"lets see how she fits" click just drops in with tons of clearance Clarance lol
Facts. Lol
If you want more steering movement simply fit a slightly longer servo arm. 🤷🏼♂️
There is also the fact that it lowers the cog. ;)
Also, you can only lengthen the servo horn so much before it hits on the lower steering link on some setups. And actually on the stock TRX4M steering link, you can’t change the length of the servo horn as the setup is a single link and it’s at a specific distance from the servo.
Butchered 🥴🤣😂🤣
