This lantern kicks ass. I occasionally go dry camping and use this lantern often. It's plenty bright, and can be charged using a powerbank. Also has candle and lightning mode which weren't shown.
Great to see your new video out Matt and thank you so much for the shout out. We have been having a blast over here at PBR and we just picked up a 88 foxbody mustang that is looking at being the new shop toy.
I always get a kick out of your enthusiasm, Matt. You also bring just about the right amount of tech terms in your reviews. Glad you are keeping it up! Probably the most flattering review of the BLF LT1 yet. I absolutely agree, this collaboration must be one of the best yet. **CHEERS**
They sent me one of these for review and I am shocked at how versatile this thing is. The build quality everything about this light screams uniqueness. It was well thought out. My order said that I’d be getting 4 batteries. They never came. So that kind of sucked. But at least I got an amazing light.
Yeah that really is something. I wrote that sentence 3 years ago. I forgot I had this. I just went and got it and it cranked right up! Been using smaller Wurkos 2700k lights but though hey, stop charging every day. Glad she's back. I just bumped into this video again. Yep, this light rocks. Now I'll put the others away and give myself a break. I'm a solar household. I might get a few more of these.
I get notified Matt posted a new video. Awesome! I see it is for a lantern. WTF? A lantern? Come on Matt. Just put a cap on a normal flashlight. Dedicated lanterns are a waste. I watch the video anyway. Damn you Matt. Now I have to go straight to Amazon and buy this lantern.
Pretty amazing how far lantern lights have come. I guess I shouldn't be surprised with what you can do with LEDs nowadays. Great video as always! Thank you!
Great job Matt! Been wanting this since it came out and should have bought it then but I procrastinated and now with the virus out there I got laid off, smh!!!! Great to see you at it still and hope you are staying safe, good luck bro!
Man I also have one of those UCO lanterns and while it isnt quite as nice as the LT1 (which I also have) I absolutely love the magnetic hanger, USB charging / charger and the hidden compartment is a nice bonus too.
I keep the orange rubber band in the deeper groove just above the button so that I don’t lose it. When I feel the lamp may be on an uneven or unstable surface I then move it to the groove above the diffuser. 👍
just placed an order for one on amazon. i've had a fenix cl25r for years and love it, it's a tiny one that only uses one 18650 battery, been thinking about getting a fenix cl30r ever since then but never got around to it. this seems like a great alternative though, similar performance at a cheaper price.
Friend bought me a CL30R for my birthday a few years ago. Absolutely fantastic lantern. I've got the LT1 as well and it obviously blows the CL30R out of the water with the features, but they're both great.
@@naota3k true, for performance and runtimes the lt1 is the way to go, the cl25r is way smaller though and since it runs off of 1 battery carrying spare batteries for it is alot simpler. both good for their own scenarios
What's the point if a lantern can't maintain an output? It'll step down after not long from too much heat. Maybe best to get a diffuser on a high powered light for a high output
@@ilovelife18 It shouldn't step down too much at that modest power, and it will automatically step back up with Anduril, the 400 Lumens of the LT1 doesn't light that much up due to the low candela.

Matt I bought this light after watching this video. With 3 years in the making, it is missing one thing. It should come with a swivel shade that rotates around the lighted part. That way you can swivel the shade towards you if you don't want it glaring in your eyes. The swivel thing should be detachable also. Nice light now I gots to come up with a swivel shade, no wut Im sayin?

Hi Matt. Can you review the Haikelite HT70? I searched and nobody seems to have reviewed it yet. It's possibly the best overall value flashlight? Rated at 17,000 lumens and 1.5 km of range. Thx in advance.
I’ll wait to see if they have charging capability with the next version? They’ve recently have V2 which can charge from C to C cable. I realize it mainly metal but it’s on a heavy side and takes like 10 hours to fully charge from empty.
do you have a video for best HEAD LAMPs?? i would love to see what you recommend, using a LED LENSER 14.2R here thinking of the XEO19R but curious as to any other brands/models you might recommend?
To factory reset your lantern unscrew the body (battery tube) until power is cut off then click the button and hold, while you're holding screw back and tighten then keep holding for 3 seconds
looks like a skyray with a mason jar to me, why dont you do some reviews on the astrolux ft03 series? pretty awesome lights for the money, alot are experimenting with the sst40,a few bragging as high as 3k lumens as an alternative to the xhp35 hi, and 2400 is common place ,i own the sst40 version and the xhp50 they have a sst90 version as well, be more interesting than popcan lights with pudding cups ;-)
Are there other Flashlights out there as well with 2700K colour temperatures? Yeah sure, I already have a 3 Cell MAGLITE (Incandescent), but it would be cool getting a high quality 1000lumen 2700k LED flashlight.
is the usbc waterproof? if not i dont trust a rubber flippy cover... Also this needs to have a Red LED function. Lanterns are just bad... headlamps will always be better. :)
That's pretty cool. Yeah, I 100% agree for photography lighting with CRI rating. Interesting only takes 4 X 18650 batteries, I thoughts take 4 X "AA" batteries. Nope, I was wrong. Shoot. Nice lantern but not quite powerful enough since I seen market with lantern upto 1000 lumens (probably 1300 lumens) along standard consumer batteries. I'll checks the Amazon affiliates links. Nice works, Matt... Good Lux 💡
They're just vastly inferior to lots of other batteries such as the LiIon 186500's these use. Even comparing 3-AAA's to 1-186500 you're looking at 1/3rd the capacity and no re-usability. Not to mention they only have the ability to output 5% of the current of an 18650. It's not that AAAs are terrible, it's just that there are other batteries that are far superior for not that much more cost. Math: 1 AAA battery is 1.5 V and 1000 mAH and max .75A - 3 in series would be 4.5 V still at 1000mAH and .75A 1 18650 battery is 4.5 V and 3000 mAH at 15A max output. AAA cost about $.75/each or $2.25 for 3 186500 about $5
I don't get the fascination with this thing considering it's high price. 600 lumens in 2020 is pathetic for starters, especially considering it's powered by four 18650's! Comparable Sofirn flashlights like the IF25 put out 2,200 lumens while using better, higher mah 21700 batteries. Speaking of the IF25, those routinely sell for around $30 with a battery at places like Aliexpress, why is this lantern around $60 with batteries for much lower lumens and the addition of a plastic diffuser? Don't get me wrong, this is a high quality product, but adding a piece of plastic on top of a flashlight doesn't make it worth double the price. I can see maybe $10 more for the lantern, but really with it's anemic light output it shouldn't be any more than an IF25.
This lantern kicks ass. I occasionally go dry camping and use this lantern often. It's plenty bright, and can be charged using a powerbank. Also has candle and lightning mode which weren't shown.
The outdoor light edit trick got me haha also i love the picture above your chair!
