hllywdunddnnpnt That was one I recorded and the video got all screwed up on it so scraped it and accidentally deleted my guitar track in the process so I have to do the whole thing over and I just don't feel like doing it again lol. I'll get over it eventually and re-record it sometime though.
SaviorYT Line 6 Spider III HD150 mic'ed with a Shure SM57 to an M-Audio M-Track Quad audio interface which goes to my laptop and I record everything usually with Audacity. I plan on making a video sometime which goes more in depth with my recording setup and whatnot but that's the gist of it. :)
***** It's just something you pick up from lots and lots of practice and you get better at it over time. If you're looking to start learning songs by ear, I'd start slow. I learned a lot of Green Day songs when I first started trying to learn songs by ear since they're basically all power chords so you can pick them up easy, as I started getting better at it, I started learning harder songs. How I do it is I load the song up in Audacity, break the song up into sections and just loop a section over and over until I think I got it right and then move on to the next one. If a section is too fast (like a solo or lead), I'll slow the tempo down so I can hear all the individual notes and pick it apart slowly, note-by-note. Knowing a little music theory also helps, especially when learning leads.
