- Harvesting Corn near Rankin Illinois
In this video I am out in a corn field near Rankin Illinois as a farm harvests their 2022 corn crop using a John Deere 9570 STS combine and 6 row corn head. Running beside the combine keeping the grain moving from the field to the truck is a John Deere 4850 tractor pulling a John Deere 400 grain cart. This grain cart would have been a popular size years ago and is somewhat rare to find one in use nowadays. Once I saw this cart I though this would make a pretty good UA-cam video and stopped in and asked for permission to film it.
Thanks to this farm for letting me video them and thanks everyone for watching this video.

The drone shots really add an interesting perspective to the videos. During field operations, we are focused on the job at hand viewing our work at machine level.
I love watching classic John Deere tractors and combines out in field working.
Like seeing afarm with giant equipment. Thanks b
A john deere grain cart is a great sight😁👍 thanks for another awesome video👍👍
That Farmer is keeping it simple and making money...Great Vid🌽🌽🌽🌽👍👍👍👍👨🌾👨🌾🚜🚜👨🌾👨🌾
Wagon looks to be a later version of the 1210a.
nice to see the older iron still being used
Loving the grain cart we have a smaller one like that, also love seeing these older John Deere that I can relate to it more! most of the equipment we have is late 1990s and early 2000s
Same bro
Thanx a lot for the "historical" grain cart and the "old" tractor. What a differense three decades make .... unbelievebale!
the truck driver has the best job there
still nice machines working well
👋 hey 👋 from Dexter,Missouri
Mike as always I love to watch your videos I like that grain cart you don't find many small ones like that anymore it almost a rare item to be found anymore .that John deere tractor is perfect match for the grain cart.i always enjoy watching your videos .I really would live to meet you some time in my travels. Thank you Mike for all the videos GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON COMING UP WE TRULY HAVE A LOT TO THANKFUL FOR .
Mike!! That is one good looking tractor and grain cart!! Well, maybe not in the way you talk about those Versatiles towing those J&Ms, but I like this. I have always liked the 4850s with 4WD. Ever since they came out, I have always wanted to drive one. And the grain cart is cute. The auger is a little slow on the unloading, but it is something!! I like the way, when it's empty, the cart bounces around behind the tractor. A little light on the weight empty! Great video MIke!
Yes another Mike less video from the imperial co California 🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜
Mike, the 90’s called. They want their harvest setup back.
The drone view is fantastic. The Illinois prairie is so immense. This shows that the results of Illinois corn and soybean production has an effect on corn futures prices at the Chicago Board of Trade.
Have family that lives in that area, and my dad was stationed in Rantoul back in the early 60s. My mom grew up on a farm south of Sidney.
Looks like the grain cart could use longer auger. If the farm decided to get wider corn head they would need to get a bigger grain cart. But for just 6 rows the grain cart does work.
Les prises de vues sont superbes! comme sur toutes vos vidéo. Bravo
Go big or go home?
Not at all! 😉
Thanks a lot for the video! 😊👍🏻
Enjoyed watching the video, never seen a JD grain cart before . Keep up the great videoing 😁👍🏻
I enjoyed your farm show
Another great video 👍 Regards from Down Under.
Awesome video. I love the classic Deere’s still getting the job done, as I can relate better to them bc that’s what we operate. We once owned a 400 grain cart...not a big fan. Haha. Pain in the but to clean out and hated 2 auger system.
Great vídeo Mike.
Great video Mike
Great video, greetings Johan
Very cool video Mike. I've only seen a JD 500 grain cart. Didn't know they had a 400. Great find. 👍🏻
Yep, we had one 20+ years ago, hardly ever used it
Back in 80s we had John Deere cart just like that, 2022 I have a j m 1312 right hand auger cart on tracks

Добрый день. С большим удовольствием смотрю ваши видео. Хотелось бы посмотреть как вы контролируете потери урожая непосредственно за комбайном? Большое спасибо.
😎😎
I didn't know John Deere used to manufacture grain carts
Do you guys ever come by Paxton or no?
Costs are steady. 80k in 1985 is $200 k today: for a 200hp tractor.
Still the same ratio of $1000 per hp in todays dollars. But much more technology today.
So machinery costs remain steady.
I spent a lot of time in a 4850, 4960, and 8400. Nice tractors.
The saying is its not the size it's how you use it
Nothing runs like a deer am I right
Right on brother !
@@drippyjustworks 😁
No pal sorry to brake it to you but Deere kinda runs like shit 🤭
I am currently running a UFT 500 grain cart, same as JD 500.
