I could see if the cop asked if everything was ok. Sure. But then when you tell him what you are doing and he asks why, that to me crosses into being nosy. Why does he need to know why?
I have that same feature on my car (I like it, I drive a manual in a city), reason it wasn't shutting the engine off isn't related to how fast you go, it's distance travelled, so it's not shutting off every time you move 2 inches.
80% of Impalas were V6, no stop start. The color is called Pepperdust, called tan(in sun), but has grey tint. The LS seats are pleather with cloths inserts too.
I'm thinking about getting an Impala with a 3.6l reason I say that is because we have a 2011 malibu with a 3.6l and other than a bad purge valve wire and fuel pump sensor we love it lots of power and rides smooth
I know this is an older video, just wanted to mention that the auto stop/start actually is a nice feature to have. With this, vehicles are equipped whipped with a higher performance, higher durability, starter equipment. You will get used to this feature quickly. I can tell you don’t like it, but it is a nice feature. saves fuel , that’s the main reason for this. but also emissions to the environment. Just imagine all vehicles idling on this world at once. 5 minutes combined would be astronomical amounts of co2 to the atmosphere. I’m not a green tree hugger environmentalist. Just wanted to mention it’s a good thing. as long as it doesn’t take too long to start , THAT would be horrible! But since it takes under half a second, others around won’t be waiting for your car to start and just be patient, foot off the brake then accelerate nice and regularly you won’t even notice it. Too bad this and the Malibu and Camaro GM decided to axe and stop production. ONLY so GM can only make CUVs and SUVs. Oh, maybe there is a Cadillac car and Corvette still being made. but that is it. No cars at all from GM at all what so ever everything is SUVs now days. I say to everyone to buy a sedan or coupe CAR and keep it. Thanks , and Hello from Austin Texas
I haaaaatttte that feature. My 2019 ford transit has a button to shut off the feature. Has a big "A" on it. I've heard some stories where the car won't turn on again.
Boggles my mind why they made this in a 4 cylinder. I have a 2018 V6. The V6 is no joke, it's a heavy car and the V6 makes it really get up and go. The V6 is rated at 305HP and 264 torque with the 6 speed transmission.....it surprises alot of people! There are videos of the V6 impala vs the V6 charger, V6 Chrysler 300, and V6 accord. The impala beats the charger, 300, and accord. The only one that gives it a run for its money is the accord....the accord seems to have different timing on the shifting which gives it a lead for a little bit....but the impala ultimately takes the accord over!
I have that same feature in my Toyota where the car basically "shuts off" when at a stop for a period of time. But I have a button on my console I can push to turn that off, so I do. It would drive me nuts if I couldn't turn it off.
@@Yup71719 It's about as big a car you can probably get. Anything bigger would need to be a SUV or Truck. I now have 102K. Same battery and brakes. Dealer says they're fine.
The front battery is a battery designed to work the start/stop-system (of course, they are more expensive), the small back battery is to juice up interior features (like heated seats, seat adjustment and stuff). Usually there is a button to turn it off.
it looks nice, but 2019 with low miles and already got problems to fix, not a good sign, that's why I got a Honda this time, I'm sorry I know you hate comments like this it is not trolling by any means, just a point of view :) but must say I loved the hidden room behind the screen and how you used it :D
The start and stop system is horrible for the turbo and startmotor. If you think about it, driving on a higway and then you come to traffic lights and the engine shuts off immediately. That means that the turbo is super hot and doesn't get any oil to cool it off.
I may be wrong but I seem to remember someone calculated that 10 seconds of idling uses more fuel than restarting a modern (warm) engine. So I think it can make a difference in urban settings for both fuel consumption and pollution. It would however be nice if you had an option to engage that system or not.
Worst idea since them horrid blue headlights. The AC starts to blow warmer when car shuts off besides the excessive wear on the starter. If you ever have a weak battery you will die at at an intersection.
I HATE auto stop/start or ASS as i like to call it. My guess is that manufacturers implemented this 'feature' in order to help with emissions and to seem environmentally friendly and what not but it can't possibly save that much gas at all... Not only that but it definitely wears out your starter. I had to turn that stupid thing off every time i got into my car for 3 years. I ended up buying a mustang which to my delight doesn't come with that crap.
That’s the car I drive daily! I enjoy mine. When the car shuts off at a stop just let up on the brake just a bit not enough to let the car start moving but just a bit and the car will start up again. Or you could put it into low gear and push the plus arrow on the gear shift until it is in the highest gear, it will still shift through the gears but will not auto shut off. Hey Jeff press the button just to the right of the button that says RADIO. You can program it to lock with a password also
I bought a 2014 Chevy Impala and love it. Mine is a 6 cylinder and gets better mileage than your rental and does not have the shut off feature thank goodness. I had to laugh when you talked about comfort versus gas mileage because those were my exact words to my wife when I bought it. I've owned a lot of cars in my life including a Cadillac, but this car is my favorite. The 2014 Chevy Impala was Car Magazine's car of the year being the first American made car to win that award in about 15 years.
I regret getting mine last October. It drives like absolute ass on snow and ice. I got stuck in the driveway twice on four inches of snow! Any turns at all under 30 miles per hour and it slides. Tires are only 4 months old universal tires. My rear wheel drive dakota magnum truck drives infinitely better then that thing in winter.
It looks nice for sure. Would hate to rely on myself to fix it. That manual mode is weird. The car is weird. Not a fan of newer cars. My BMW has that Manual mode, but you engage I'd by pulling the shifter down and to the left, then shifting up or down based on whst gear you want. I hardly use the automatic feature, mainly use the manual. I like Impalas, maybe now the newer ones. 300+ horsepower and no way to really utilize it in a fun way lol. Best it's a good daily though.
