Brewmaster has so many things going on during an encounter. It's exhausting.
My dps comes from clicking on the use ability of the 2-hander off Rashok that I bought with buillon and watching it proc from Rushing Jade Wind. 10 secs of fun in an otherwise terrible experience.

Also I’m glad Blizzard buffed prot wars now - in the 3rd week of the last season before the next xpac. I’m glad they were super speedy in seeing a need and making necessary or else they risked being the least popular tank in the game in both mythic and raid …. Whew - dodged a bullet 😅

they should have unnerf guardian s3, prot war s1 and prolly some vdh nerfs like this. now we have 3 balance tank imho.

As long as one tank has more control over large groups of mobs, there will not be balance.
Where's your pull as a Brew? Where's your silence? Disrupt? Where's your control?
Great. You can survive and do damage. Cool.
All other tanks have very limited tools to deal with large groups, especially groups mixed with casters and melee.
This goes the same for every other tank. Paladin is close because of shield silence and Blinding Light. DK is close because of 2 charge grip and Abom limb - Gorefiend Grasp typically isn't chosen during M+. Warrior is in the same boat. The only reason guardian was so strong was just because of damage and sustainability and the fact the other classes in the god comp were very strong together.
I play VDH but I also play the other tanks. The other tanks will always be lower in terms of control. Why would you bring the other tanks? Guardian excelled in S2, before VDH changes, due to the kit of the other classes. You needed Mark, anyway, for pushing higher keys. It's just hopium thinking you're getting the same type or similar control with the other tanks. It just won't happen.
And that's okay. No one forces you to play the game, nor a specific class. If the direction of the tanks is not for you, I'm sorry. But you don't have to tank and you don't have to play the most meta tank. Also, no one forces you to play the sub-par tank specs. If you're a tank, learn all the specs. Learn how to tank on everything, just in case one tank is ahead of all the others.
I hate this game man. Brew is my favorite spec in the whole game. Also my monk got absolutely funneled gear through random drops to catch him up to my friends. Finally got the rotation down. Now you tell me they nerf them just in case they’re too strong next expansion?! Why?!

Yeah. Prot Warrior is already speccing very offensively right now in raids, so that's not going to be a meta pick, but it is something you can do.
Man I am gutted about that assessment of brewmaster going into TWW. I am still sincerely hoping they rework the spec along the lines of what they've done for MW and WW. BrM is my favorite spec, but it's already the worst designed monk spec and with no stated direction for the spec and no indication yet of changes, it's going to be really rough in TWW.
yep, its in a quite sad spot with lots of stuff that feels underwhelming in terms of design: clash beeing a very bad charge, tank statue so niche that noone specs it, ring of peace a shadow of its former glory after all these nerfs to it (and basically every important mob beeing imune), close range single interrupt when every high m+ runs is all about stops, even the signature stagger mechanic doesnt feel impactfull anymore.
only thing that feels really good about it imo is the selfhealing with spheres spawning left and right and using them on demand with expel harm. the rest is a giant bunch of bandaid fixes accumulated over the past 3 addons or so. Its a class with an insane amount of abilities that are borderline bad or useless. It really needs a complete rehaul
It's really frustrating. We're several weeks into Alpha testing, so definitely not done and ready to ship, but there have been almost no tank changes at all. The only changes have been Prot Warrior buffs.
Maybe the Brewmaster overhaul is still just on the way, but as more and more time passes and no changes come, that gets harder to believe.
Brewmaster update dropped in the new build and my hope is restored.
It's disrespectful what they did to BM monk. Imo they did that so no one plays it in MOP remix. I could be wrong, who knows.

What would be the best class now to use 70 boost on as a wow noob? Was looking at tank classes cause of queue times and survivability for solo grindz. Also would prefer a challenging class to play with atlest ok+ mobility and bursty dmg
If you are looking for a class that has high mobility and can tank. Go vengeance demon hunter. And their dps spec (Havoc) is known for their mobility and crazy big burst cleave. Very fun. And I’d say just challenging enough to leave a lot to learn. But beginner friendly enough to be good for a new player out of all the other tanks. Best of luck
Even post-nerf, DH is still very strong, and Havoc is a fun DPS spec.
Warrior is on the come-up right now, especially heading into the next expansion. All three specs of Warrior are fun-even if they're not at the top of the meta right now.

Druid is a second best tank for M+ imo and I take it every time over VDH if it has decent experience for 12+ keys. Playing healer and appreciate druid utility, also as evoker I can help with cc anyways. Druid is for soul, vdh for meta and alot of noobs there sadly))
VDH got nerfed and is still, by far, the best in M+... Oh well.
It turns out that doing the most damage, being the tankiest, and having the best CC will make you the best tank even if they nerf it a bit.
It's not a huge surprise that this set of nerfs wasn't really enough, but here we are.
I keep thinking - are blizzard devs playing some kind of upper level 3D chess when they ‘ balance ‘ classes or are they really this oblivious ?

Man, I've been a die hard Brew player but this is really getting old.... Blizz needs to do something about stagger and our health pool and group utility and this nerfing our damage the only thing we have.....

The BM monk nerfs is because people are doing over 400 k overall dmg in m+,so it dose make sence, what doesn't make sense it no other buff to Bm. wish they could separate them or do something at least

I'd love to know the specific comps, gear, and m+s they are parsing.
Sure I can do a 300-400k overall on my brew but no one still plays the class cause it has nothing useful going for it and if mobs don't get melted you have to kite or die lol should have fixed the overall class with the nerf and not just nerf... sigh lol
The monk nerfs were because Equinox posted a couple of videos of him doing 400k in dungeons for a full dungeon and I would be willing to bet Blizzard devs watch his vids since there are not many brew streamers. Love his content, but I think they saw these videos and knee jerk nerfed them.

Just got off work and saw those VDH nerfs. I immediately facepalmed. Then I read the prot warrior changes and thought “they’re going to revert that quicker than they’ll nerf VDH”.

How they leave prot pala dmg so low compared to other tanks... No issue here
It's such a conundrum, because if they buff it to deal high-level damage, it will be overpowered. The group utility it provides is already overpowered, even with the horrendous damage.
But that's the problem with Paladin. It's basically like playing a healer than can hold threat.
It's a great spec, really, really strong, but just miserable to play because you know that any other tank can deal 20% more damage in AoE, at minimum.
@@WoWatNight VDH brings even more utility to m+ and has the highest dmg of all tank specs, spellwarding every 4/5 mins is not worth it, and to lean towards the healing aspect you lose even more dmg. There is something fundamentaly wrong with the spec if you lose aggro to your co-tank when you both play optimally imo.

Yeah, love the monk playstyle, but god is it junk, the reason to play aside from playstyle was the damage. But it was still terrible, so whatever chimp at the dev team made that call needs to get fired. Nothing more to say about it.
Nerf dk? Would be beyond dumb, there are two tanks that need to be dialed down (or the rest dialed up) and thats vdh and prot pally.
And now they've made even more bizarre changes for Brew on the alpha.

Why why bother asking for nerfs to anyone , instead use it as a model to how other tanks should be. The nerfs to the top ones means , now one in the bottom or at least middle will get any improvements …

Blizzard balances by waiting for sweaty tryhard to exploit them. Once the tryhards get what they want, then blizzard changes it before the casuals can use it.
We have no idea how and when Blizzard chooses to make these changes. It can be baffling at times.
Saying they are permanent is just not correct you are comparing this to the prepatch of an expansion these are not the same.
