Your mando sounded killer! Everyone who took a turn on it made it sound stellar. Fantastic picking by everyone. Thanks for posting this. If I was in that jam, I would need to wear a diaper from being so nervous!
Is that skaggs’ famous PeeWee mando? He mentioned details on that mando last Id heard him and the Thunder @ Del Valley BGFest. I think I heard him say in this video that he carved down the neck himself while doing rig time? So does Skaggs keep a small shop on that big black bus? Very curious. I wouldn’t think he’d be carving on such a famous and sacred instrument. ???
The one in the video is a replica of Bill Monroe’s mandolin. He had Gibson give it a vintage finish, and even scratch out the Gibson inlay in the head stock.!
Jake has the best right hand in biz. Skaggs sure knows how surround himself with the best as he himself is a master ❤
My favorite Bluegrass Band ever❤😊
Thanks for letting us be a fly on the wall - what a cool group
You’re welcome, it was a fun night!
That sounds so amazingly good. Thanks so much for uploading this jam. What a pleasure to watch and hear.
Awesome, thanks for sharing that! What fun. Nice mando btw. Nothing better than musicians sitting in a circle and having fun I say.
You got that right!
Kentucky Thunder, so tight.
I felt pretty old before I saw Jake Workman's grey hair. Now I feel REALLY OLD!!
Haha 😂
So much fun! Needs a bass!😉👍
For sure!
Andy sure can saw a fiddle! My favorite by far. Time sure flies by, Jake looked about 16 when he joined the band! lol a great group of musicians!
Yeah he’s the best!
What a joy! Excellent!!
Thanks!
Thanks for the support curt!

Nice - looks like tons of fun!! Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure
Wow what I would give to be able to play as well as you guys do and I am able to say that after 55 years of playing guitar and mandolin
I love your playing I'm technically distantly related to Ricky skaggs and would love to meet him someday, as i play mandolin too.
Awesome thanks,
Nice, I hope you get the chance to meet Ricky.
Awesome!
Thank you gentlemen-- that was awesome! I sware I kept hearing a pennywhistle in there somewhere. Merry Christmas
I didn’t realize Andy Leftwich was back w/ Kentucky Thunder. All of you mixing it up and sounding great👍
Andy is not the current fiddle player, he just happened to be filling in when this jam took place.
The left, son, beautiful
Thanks for Sharing Jared. Your playing was excellent. For me, my pick just would not find the strings is I was sitting across from Ricky. Good on ya.
Oh I was complete jitters!
They definitely had the advantage to just be chilling, where for me playing in the same room with them was a bit frightful!
Mighty fine.
Nightmare blunt rotation😂 JK amazing stuff
I like when you handed Jake the Gilchrist and he acted like he didn't know what to do with it, then proceeded to play with world class Jake chops lol
My thoughts exactly!
Cattle in the Cain!
😂😂Fabulous!
Tight y’all!
Yea

What day/year was this?
August 28 2022.
After a concert Kentucky Thunder did in Hartford Wisconsin.
I don't see a banjo in there! If you need one I can be there.
Nice, yeah Russ didn’t get in on the jam.
