Delighted to discover Will Kennedy's UA-cam demo on how to play the drum part. It's basically a 6/8 pattern from Cameroon Africa. After some (lot of) practice, I'm having fun playing it.
Wish there was a chart out there somewhere for this tune. Our little jazz group would love to try this. A transcriber's nightmare! Help. What great playing.

Love Will but, I'd give you 2 thumbs up on that one if I could. Marcus was poppin and generally more rhythmically diverse. Will was more like that when he was younger. He's still great but he has mellowed.

For me Marcus Baylor was well suited for this band more than any of the drummers that played with them.
Agreed, Marcus killed it on this gig. From his sound to the way he approached the music, I really enjoyed his stint with the "Jackets".
