Jesse absolutely has done them as H17Fx. In addition, CR123A batteries are 3.7V new, so you can use them if you need to. As far as batteries go, so long as you get a battery with proper voltage it will work. Amperage doesn't hurt the light, you just get less output. Improper voltage can potentially damage a light.
Also, you said you wanted something with more control than Dragon driver offers, but with secondary colors. Your best option, and an absolutely fantastic light, is to get an Oveready/Torchlab BOSS 35. Fantastic Lux-RC driver that does have secondaries, but offers a TON of user control. There's also a new version of the Copper and Current 15VP driver coming out (v6) that offers secondaries and is dual voltage with 15mm diameter, but they're not released yet. Mike is a great, very smart guy, and the Hinton that he put out is a great light if you can find one.

Vapcell T6 version of the 16340 works just fine on these lights. I bought a few for my Barrel and I’m using one currently in a Citadel my buddy lent me. Kevin from Barrel suggested that version over the T8 you have here because of the max continuous discharge.

Idk why ppl hate on the 16340. 700 Mah is pretty good. 18350’s i have are around 1000. So its not a crazy difference. Just top it off like 1 day early if you recharge weekly. I slap a new one in every chance i get so doesn’t matter to me

Also, I don't believe the Peanut is the smallest 18350 light. Pretty sure the Hank D4v2 (intl-outdoor) with the 18350 short tube is smaller in all dimensions. Downside is you gotta deal with Anduril, and the machining isn't as awesome.

You really have to look into the cool fall tri-v flashlight it is the ABSOLUTE EPITOME of flashlights, it’s like 3 citadels In one (literally)

I enjoy watching your videos and I know you collect as well as use the lights. BUT what do you use the flashlights for mainly?

To light up dark areas.. haha. I use them mostly indoors because i am up much later than my family. So i use low modes a lot getting around the house and my bedroom. I also use them when im working around the house, garage, outside, etc. especially this time of year where its super dark early.
