- "Tenchu: Stealth Assassins" is a PlayStation game developed by Acquire and published by Sony Music/Activision in 1998.
The game's soundtrack was composed by Noriyuki Asakura.
25 years later in 2023 and I would still play this game. Classic!

When I was a child after playing this level, I always had an uneasy feeling like there was always someone watching me from a hidden corner without my knowledge. Even at night I have to cover my face to sleep
still hands down the best ninja game ever...was good to have that debug menu though....
I had SO much fun with the debug menu! Shooting myself and others with tons of arrows never got old. I also used to set land mines to go off during cutscenes 😂
Damn using that debug menu was like having a whole nother game inside! My older brother and I would mess with for hours. Classic!🔥

Agreed, I've played some other great ones (Red ninja, Ninja Gaiden, The Ninja, Shinobi and shadow dancer etc) there's nothing else like this, though Red Ninja is probably a 2nd best contender for me (it's lesser known).
@@Dagoth_Ur_1 Tenchu and Way of the Samurai are in the top of my list of great games.
I gotta be honest, sometimes the music in this game distracted me from the gameplay, that's How good this soundtrack really is.
And i'm not talking out of nostalgia, never played this game as a kid(never even owned a Playstation) and played this game recently.
But Holy shit I love this damn game x.x

If you have a Lightfoot scroll, you can use it at the beginning of the stage and dash straight all the way to the end without being spotted by anyone. It's too funny! That item was so awesome.
Daymn, Imma try that when I get home. This level was infuriating me for some time now.

this level of the game out of all just always creep me out with the enemies both ground and on roof just watch you even when you weren't in eye sight of them. great game:)

The enemies are ninjas and kunoichis, they can jump to the roof as well. Their instinct is sharper than normal enemy.

Just started playing this game out of curiosity, had a hard time getting used to the controls, but now that I got used to it I'm addicted to this game XD, been playing only this game this week, the soundtrack I's just too freaking amazing.
I hope the other games in the franchise are just as good if not better, cuz i'm definitely gonna play them all.

If you are looking for more forgotten gems and you like fighting games you can check out Urban Reign on ps2, it's especially epic in multiplayer with a friend(or friends).
They get better, the xbox 360/ps3 one Tenchu Z was kinda odd but cool in it's own way

2018 and still liking this PS1 game.
This is my favorite song in the game. Brings back memories of staying up late during the summer of '06 and playing this game, I can't wait to fix my girlfriend's PS One and play this game again! :D

1998 7 years old thinking the enemy ninjas couldn't see me on the roof until one jumps climbs up on to the roof stands right in front of me lol
What i also hated in the game if your on the roof and if you make a noise or they catch any dead body, they suspicious they see you on the roof. ALWAYS hated that as a kid.

The lowest rank in Tenchu is Thug, yet being a Thug is considered a plus in hip hop culture.
Well it actually makes sense since you only get that title if you spotted by all the enemies and still be able to end the mission killing all the enemies or w/ dying
Thugs are real street niggas and would cap their enemies head on. Ninjas on the other hand don't wanna be known to exist
